Ramirez is perhaps the best hidden gem in Fremont Decoto area. It is a happy place! The family run place is a lovely spot to buy freshly grown food. Sometimes when the place is quiet, you can walk the field of Zinnias to cut and bring back some home! Rows of sunflowers adorned this stretch for the longest time during the pandemic, brightening our grocery run for the longest time. Watch the turn into the parking lot, but you will find varieties of peppers, seasonal vegetables and the most fresh fruits. If you linger or happen to chance upon the farmer Ramirez, he will tell you if there are fresh aubergines or peppers or corn he can harvest for you right away! Also, bring your kids and mask up, the tractors and trailers and roosters at the back bring enough entertainment to your hour of grocery in the pandemic! You would wish that there may be a price or menu board, but don’t go sophisticated. Carry cash and be willing to bargain and socialize the old school way to buy your everyday...

Ramirez Farm is one of the last patches of land not built upon with more clutter and congestion. It’s a place where you get a friendly greeting and a farm fresh variety of fruits and vegetables. As a private chef I do grow some of my own veggies but for all else I go to Ramirez. The quality is bar none. Corn is super sweet and pops in your mouth after being put on the grill, peppers are fragrant, crisp and full of flavor, the summer squash is a true rich gold color unlike the boring pale yellow of the big chains and much much more.
