Atmosphere was nice, but sticker shocked when I got to the counter to pay for services. I when I made my appointment I asked for prices being that I am new to the area, it will be my fist time coming to the salon and I needed to jnkw how much to bring. I spoke with an employee on the phone (receptionist) and she didn't know the prices for services.

I kept my appointment anyway and arrived at 7:50am. Upon arrival I asked again how much were our services gonna cost and the subject was swerved because it was unknown how much the protein treatment was going to cost.

My appointment was scheduled for 8 am. I waited about 15 minutes before I was called to the chair (no complaints there).

Jason was every polite and knowledgeable in his area of expertise. He did my cut (I have a very low low female hair cut) and color (natural hair), in which I am okay with. I like it. My daughter received her ends clipped, a protein treatment and a wash with (natural hair) and a flat twist up do. The stylist who did her hair sent her out with a wet head (didn't put her under the dryer) after the up do was completed and I had to go back to ask for her to sit under the dryer for 30 minutes (so she could dry) and her style was substandard. I was charged $225.00 for our hair. When I looked at my receipt, it wasn't itemized giving the cost of each service received and when I looked in the brochure of prices the services I received wasn't in there. I was NOT expecting to pay this ($225.00) much at this salon.

Overall, if it weren't for Jason, I would give this salon a 0/10, but I will give it two stars because of Jason and my daughter did enjoy her facial she received.

When a customer ask for a price, it should be known. A client shouldn't be sent out the door with a wet head and the style she received, I could have done myself at home. Consumers come to salons to have styles in which the customer is incapable of doing at home.

I made a future appointment, but after writing this review and in retrospect, I think I will cancel that future...

Honest Experience Great Service, But Confused About Pricing.

This was my first time visiting Designer Glitz & Glamour, and I want to start by saying the staff was very kind and helpful. My sister hadn’t had her hair brushed or detangled in over a year, and it was extremely matted. The stylists were very understanding and didn’t make us feel judged or embarrassed. Multiple stylists took turns helping to gently work through the tangles and tried their best to save as much hair as possible.

They did end up having to cut more than 7 inches because the hair couldn’t be brushed through. The photo I have was taken before they trimmed it again to even everything out.

The only part that left me unsure was the cost of the relaxer. I was originally told it would be around $180, but I was charged $250. Later, I saw on the website that chemical services are listed at $70, so the price difference was confusing. I don’t go to salons often, so I didn’t know what to expect, but I do wish the final cost had been explained more clearly before the service started.

We were there from around 11:45 a.m. to 3 p.m., so I completely understand that it took a lot of time and effort. I just think it would help a lot if pricing for long or difficult services was discussed up front, so clients know what to expect before checking out.

Overall, I really appreciated the care and patience the team showed during a tough situation. I just think it would help a lot if pricing was made more transparent upfront, especially for clients who are new or unfamiliar with...

It’s my daughter’s first week of college, not too far from the salon. She’s away from home and caught the “fever” to cut off ALL her beautiful natural hair. She went to a local barber shop and they gave her a crew cut. Oh my goodness!! And I am 4 hours away. College alone is awkward enough!! HELP!!! Sooo a great friend recommended this salon. We didn’t know anyone else in San Antonio. I called the salon, and Debra was very knowledgeable about the style we wanted (we sent in a picture) and we booked an appointment with Jason. Upon arrival, my daughter was greeted and treated nicely. She said the salon was “very pretty”. Jason went over the style she wanted, they discussed how to achieve and within no time she was transformed. We love it!! Her smile blew me away!! What a relief!! I’m so glad to know that there are people that will listen and care to give you exactly what you envisioned!! I’m moving to SA soon and we have already found our salon home. Thanks Designer Glitz...
