My experience with Campus Ink only went as far as getting ready to submit my payment for my order. I cannot provide feedback on the actual quality or workmanship of the items. Which I am glad I went with my gut and did not submit payment right away. Otherwise I would have been fighting to get my $300 back. So, I was unsure of how to properly rate them star wise. I think 3 stars is generous for the outcome.
I reached out to this company in the beginning of this year (2021) to inquire if they would do a custom embroidery for 6 zip up sweatshirts, that were to be gifts for my bridesmaids.
I had communicated with a staff member who provided me with a quote, which was very comparable to what I was seeing on ETSY etc. Why did I not go with ETSY originally? I wanted to keep it local, support a local business and in the instance, there was an issue I could easily go to the shop and discuss anything.
We pick out items, I tell them exactly what I want, they let me know there is a processing fee for the embroidery. Let them know that was ok, asked if it is PER item or one flat fee. I was advised one flat fee on the entire order. Let them know I am going to reach out in August to complete the order.
Fast forward to two weeks ago, I email letting them know I am ready to process my order. Provide the order number, approve what was quoted. By this point, I have been tossed around to three different individuals communicating on my order. I understand delays in returning customer emails/calls, everyone is busy and short staffed. But having to reach out multiple times as a follow-up to my order was kind of a pain, with my wedding in the home stretch I cannot be chasing down vendors who are not answering emails in a timely fashion. For example, they emailed me on a Friday advising on Monday they would send out the font choices, I had to reach out on Thursday because no one had emailed me as stated.
Through all of this, they finally decide that they made an error on my order and can no longer honor it. Telling me “I believe Etsy will be your best bet” “…in this particular instance it doesn’t seem like it’ll be doable.” Remember the process fee mentioned above, now they realized that a mistake was made, and they are cancelling my order. Instead of trying to work a deal with me to keep my business they tell me to go elsewhere essentially. They also did not notice through all my communications that I only ordered 6 items; surprise they have a 12-item minimum. I called the shop to get a clarification on this, and the staff member laughed and said yeah well that's why so and so is not here any longer.
I understand having previous employees who’ve made errors and the current are left to clean up their mistakes. I too have needed to do this, but – I always do what I can to right the wrong and retain the business of that person. While I may have only been purchasing 6 items, I could have brought business that purchased 100+ items in the future.
All in all, my impression of this company as a business from the customer service standpoint was eh. While they were nice about cancelling my order, I am now left to scramble to find someone who can do this in less than 10 weeks. Had they of honored my order, and worked some kind of deal with me reducing the cost of the fees that were misquoted I would have been ok with paying a little extra for the...

Read moreWent through campus ink to order t-shirts for a graduate student organization. I worked mainly with Oakley, and she was great. I told her our group didn't have any deadline for turn-around time, but she got me a proof for the t-shirt within a couple days anyway. Campus ink set up an online store for everyone to purchase their shirts separately, and they collected an addition $5 from each shirt as a super easy fundraiser for the group. The order was fulfilled and ready for pick-up within 2 weeks of the online store closing. T-shirts look great, and they bag everyone's orders individually to make distribution easy. This was the fastest and easiest ordering experience I've had for any RSO...
