I did not end up purchasing a dress at Posh as I found something I liked better at David's Bridal - a comparison pros and cons of my experience are noted below and then also my experience at David's.
Pros: the woman on the phone to schedule the appointment was extremely patience and helpful. They appear to have high quality dresses here. The shop itself is conveniently located and very nice, spacious and seems higher end. They have the ability to really make this an unique and fun experience for a bride. No one else was in the shop during my visit which was nice, however there is a fee for each appointment, which I do understand.
Cons: During our appointment I felt that the consultants were not terribly excited about their line of work or the process. They weren't rude or anything, just very neutral and matter of fact, almost indifferent. I did end up liking a dress but they were unable to hold it even for 24 hours so I could attend my next appointment at another shop to finalize my decision. Posh also isn't willing to show you brands or model numbers for the dresses - I personally don't care about this, but I suspect this may be important to some brides especially if they are spending a large amount of money or are brand conscious.
I ended up purchasing my dress at David's bridal in Rockville. Honestly I was shocked to end up purchasing at a "big box" store, but they really personalized the experience and made me feel special. My bridal consultant at David's basically read my mind, was super excited and clearly was in the right line of work. Also, the alterations were much cheaper at David's than what Posh was quoting (granted they were able to order my dress within a few weeks and therefore could order my size and not massively tailor it down from the sample dress like Posh was going to have to). To that end, David's was able to order my dress with plenty of time whereas Posh recommended not ordering as it could take 6 months. So depending upon your needs and interests, big box may be for you or Posh with the limitations as...
Read moreBrides, please read this before you make the same mistake I did. This shop blatantly misled me just to make a sale. They promised me a custom gown — the bodice of one dress with the skirt of another by the same designer. That was the only reason I committed to this particular dress. When the dress came in, it was completely wrong. Instead of taking responsibility, they denied ever saying it was possible and repeatedly told me it was my “misunderstanding.”
Let me be clear: this was not a misunderstanding. This was a lie to get my money. When I pushed for a resolution, I was stonewalled, denied access to the owner, and treated with open disrespect. I’ve never experienced such unprofessionalism, dishonesty, and cruelty from women in a customer service role.
Your wedding dress should be exciting, joyful, and special. This shop turned mine into a nightmare and now I’m left with a dress I hate and having to start over somewhere else.
Don’t trust them with your day — it’s not worth the heartbreak and manipulation.
Editing to respond to owner (who refused to speak with me personally after I requested to try to resolve the issue before writing a review): As stated above, I was misled to believe this was a “custom” ordered gown. Your consultant talked me into a gown I didn’t like from the beginning rather than being willing to continue to pull gowns (from your extensive inventory, mind you) that could have been something I actually wanted.
I did take my business elsewhere and had a much better experience where the consultant took her time, put me in 10+ dresses (your consultant only pulled 5 for me to choose from then talked me into a dress I didn’t like). I liked your seamstress so much after my consult that I wanted to do business with HER specifically. Once I found out today that our transaction loop was closed I wrote my review. I hope other brides take something from this exchange that could have been avoided by adequate customer service on your part.
If you’d like to discuss further and change the outcome of this review you...
Read moreI made an appointment at Posh Bridal back in November 2021 and it was such a great experience! The atmosphere is beautiful and the salon is spacious. The staff I interacted with were friendly and welcoming. Lindsay was a pleasure to work with, really understood the style and vibe I was going for and I did say yes to the dress on my first visit! I had went dress shopping two times prior and was looking for specific dresses and when I called the other stores I was informed they had them and when I arrived was disappointed to find out they did not, however Posh Bridal did and I was excited about going based on that alone.
On their site, it does say at this time anyone under the age of 15 is not permitted in the salon, but my niece is a HUGE part of my life and this moment would not have been the same without her and I was glad they allowed her to attend. I also was unsure if I was buying my dress that day, but once it was on, I knew that was it. Unfortunately I forgot my card at home but I was able to run home and call back with the information. I also appreciated that you are offered a discount (varies by designer I believe) if you purchase your gown on your first visit, which I definitely took advantage of! I will say the dress was priced a bit higher than expected, Kleinfeld definitely sells it lower, so I was slightly disappointed about that, however it is still my dream dress, which was already difficult to find in a store, and with the discount it was still much lower than I intended on spending.
I will say the only issue I had was calling the store. No one really seems to tend to the phones. Booking online was a bit hard to find but even so a call to the store is needed regardless and no one really answers the phones. I had to call a few times and leave a voicemail. Also, due to COVID, upon arrival there is a sign on the door that says to call and someone will come get you. No one answered my calls, but the door happened to be unlocked so I was able to get in with no issues.
Overall it was a...
