Sometime in June 2019: I've ordered 3 deliveries though DoorDash from Atlantic Grille in the past month. I kept trying because I thought it could be just a bad day for them. I was wrong. The first time I ordered a mushroom swiss burger and cream of crab soup. I ordered it rare, it was med well at best and that's being generous. The bbq sauce was supposed to be memphis style, it was super sugary and thick. The crab soup was curdled and had so much butter the soup itself was swimming in it. The second time I ordered a fried chicken sandwich. Super dry and over cooked and they put a itty bitty tiny bit of their sweet and tangy mayo on it. The third time I ordered a Atlantic burger and a BLTA with rice pilaf. I have no idea what they think rice pilaf is, but I assure you it is not rice with a couple chopped carrots and parsley. The bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado sandwich was yummy, I asked for it on the rye swirl bread which they did, but I also asked for it toasted which they half way kinda did. The burger was cooked better, med to med well-ish, but I attribute that to my asking them to make sure it was cooked rare please in my comments. What really got me was the fact that it's supposed to come with spicy chipotle mayo and I had asked for mayo in my additions, just in case it was cooked well again. I had neither. No mayo or spicy chipotle mayo at that. The fries were good, both reg and sweet potato. I asked for tomato and lettuce on my burgers and my chicken sandwich which was done and it was fresh. The "rice pilaf" was pretty good, cooked well and seasoned well, but obviously not rice pilaf which I was expecting. Overall the food was edible to ok but I expected a lot more from a $13 burger to be honest. I also understand that because I ordered delivery, that the burger would not be rare. It keeps cooking as we all well know. So I expected med rare or maybe med.
Update 7/19/19: I have no idea what happened when I had ordered previously, but they have stepped their game up. I retract my previous review, to a point, but decided to leave it up. My food has been awesome. The burgers have been cooked correctly, the sides have been yummy and when I've made special requests for my food, they're on the money. I also went into the restaurant and the service was great, as well as the food. I'm very happy that I tried this place again even though I had been disappointed in the past.
I didn't try the rice pilaf again but their cream of crab soup was much better. Also have not had another chicken sandwich yet.
Update March 2024: Don't order delivery. Just do pick up or eat in. Their food is delicious, at least the burgers and seafood are. I had the seafood pasta at the tail end of 2022 and it was amazing. Pricey but worth it. Forgot to take a picture. Had their burgers throughout 2023 and never got a bad one. The most recent was this month, I had the Atlantic salmon salad for take out and man...
Read moreWent for dinner on a Wednesday around 6pm. Dining room was empty when we arrived, but started filling up when we were leaving. I ordered a cup of cream of crab soup, which was very good. Good amount of crab for the size, good seasoning and a nice consistency for the soup, as it wasn't overly thickened. I ordered the Wedge Salad and added the flank steak, medium rare. Let me say the salad alone is great! Large enough for a meal on its own. The wedge was more like a half of a head of iceberg lettuce, covered with chopped tomatoes, red onion, bacon and blue cheese crumbs. The flank steak on the other hand was not medium rare, but medium well. Did not appear to have been freshly cooked at the time of the order and was flavorless. A pretty big disappointment when paying over 8 dollars as an add-on. My husband ordered the Calamari. with the meat tender, not overcooked or rubbery, but the coating was flavorless and not cooked well enough. He ordered the New York Strip, medium, with a Ceasar Salad and rice pilaf. He raved about the salad, which was a large portion, not overdressed with great croutons. The steak was properly cooked, juicy and tender. The rice pilaf was "meh", so pass on that one. They have a pretty good selection of desserts. We chose the Chocolate Dream Cake ... which was horrible. Described as creamy layers ... was stale, dry, flavorless and a waste of money. Employees were friendly, service...
Read moreBest cream of crab soup I've ever had!! It's the main reason I go. The other food is pretty decent as well. Ordered the rosemary chicken and it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I was expecting more of a rotisserie style chicken, but it was 2 flat chicken breasts, and for some reason, it was spicy, and I don't really care for spicy food. There was no mention of spice in the description, or I probably wouldn't have ordered it. The grilled flavor was good though. My wife had the flank steak with chimichurri and the steak was tough and chewy. The chimichurri sauce was excellent though. Our server was horrible!! 1st she almost gave our food to the wrong table, and then once our food was dropped off, she NEVER, came back until we were done and ready for the check. No, how is everything, can I get you another drink, or do you need anything else. Her and another girl must have decided to take a break because they both came back and went to their tables at the same time. Eating out these days is quite expensive, so when people decide to eat out, they want good food and good service. If you want to be tipped 20% then you need to at least make an effort. I mean 20% these days is the price of another entree. I still tipped the 20%, but the server didn't deserve it or earn it, for never checking on our table. Perhaps it was an off night. We won't hold that against the entire restaurant though because we do...
