Dr. Wendell Ferguson has ruined my family’s life. I don’t even want to refer to him as a “Dr” as his license should be revoked. My grandma went in for a routine surgery, in the process, Wendell Ferguson broke her knee and failed to report it to her or the hospital. It wasn’t until we demanded X-rays that we found out. Which initially they wouldn’t take a X-ray. But because my grandmother couldn’t walk, we were not going to leave without confirming something was wrong. And of course, after we finally got a X-ray, the knee was broken. My grandma has lived a happy and active lifestyle, she isn’t even in her 70’s yet! Now, her entire life has been taken from her since she can’t walk thanks to Wendell Ferguson. She has horses, she can only take care of them if someone in the family helps out. Other than that, she can’t ride or simply walk them anymore. Wendell Ferguson told her to get used to her new life and that she would never be able to walk again. All because he made a mistake!!!!! The least Kaiser can do is give my grandma compensation for all of these extra medical bills that she now has because of Wendell Ferguson and Kaiser Hospital here in Vacaville. Don’t let me forget, we pay for these extra medical costs out of pocket! If Kaiser and Wendell Ferguson wants to take someone’s walking ability away, at least give the person compensation for the life long medical costs that came with this mistake Wendell Ferguson made. But of course, Kaiser is greedy and does not care about their patients and will not give us compensation. This is negligence on both the hospital and dr. I can’t even begin to explain how frustrating this entire situation is. I mean who wouldn’t be frustrated if they got their walking ability taken away and Kaiser Vacaville doesn’t want to make it right?! Karma is very real, and I hope everyone involved, most importantly, Wendell Ferguson, has their walking ability taken away from them someday, so that they can begin to understand what they took from their patients. My grandma will require life long care, and it’s not cheap. But of course, no one at Kaiser wants to be responsible for that. Remember everyone, if people weren’t injured or sick, these hospitals and Doctors wouldn’t be making money, so it’s in their favor to keep people sick and disabled. I will never trust a Kaiser hospital. I would be so terrified to go in for a simple surgery, just to wake up and find out I’m never going to be able to walk again, simply due to a new “technique” a dr wanted to try. Thank you Wendell Ferguson and Kaiser Vacaville for ruining our lives. I just hope your loved ones don’t go through the same thing you guys have put our family through. But if they do, you’ll begin to see the life taken away from that person and their life being severely affected.
Last thing to add: Wendell Ferguson is most likely enjoying his retirement carefree and living the high life. While my grandma suffers everyday because of him. Wheres the morals and ethics in...
Read moreWas forced to move to Kaiser from Sutter after changing jobs. I’ve had it for 8 months now and it’s been a series of disappointments. Today for instance, I was supposed to see my primary doctor for the first time ever because I have been sick the past 7 days. Except for going to the ER, a person has to wait DAAAYYYSSSSSS to see an actual doctor. Since I have a moderate asthma, any upper respiratory disease gets amplified and I always end up in urgent care. Apparently, for Kaiser, Urgent Cares are few and far between. In my case, the nearest one is in Sacramento, which is about 30 minutes away. Plus, their urgent care are mostly scheduled and not on a first come, first serve basis so driving to Sacramento might prove futile. Because of this, last Friday I relented and made do with a telephone consult. I have upper respiratory concern. How in the bloody world will they hear whether my lungs are still working? Thru the phone? Argh. Anyways, that was Friday night. I developed fever and had fever for 5 straight days. The fever finally broke but the persistent cough was debilitating. And so 3 days ago, Tuesday, I called Kaiser again begging to be seen by my doctor. After talking to an advise nurse, I was finally able to secure an in person appointment for today at 230. So I took half a day off and trekked to Kaiser in Vacaville. At the medical offices’ reception, I was told that my appointment was cancelled!!! I didn’t get a single miss call despite their protestations. I almost burst into tears coz I was just so weary and sick. I saw an acquaintance waiting at the waiting room, which stopped me from making a complete and utter fool of myself. And so I went out to the front parking lot, got in my car and cried. Afterwards, I called Kaiser’s member services and ended up talking to another advise nurse. She sent an urgent message to the doctor’s office and told me to wait for a call. They will try to see if they can get me an in person consultation today. It’s 530pm. I ended up with a telephone consult AGAIN and was told to go to the laboratory for some tests. Tomorrow morning, I will actually see a doctor in the flesh. I hope I’m still alive tomorrow...
Read moreMy daughter had an extreme pain on her lower left abdomen and already have stiff hands due to pain. I need to get a wheel chair since she can't walk. Guess what? We are now waiting more than 2 hours on ER waiting area. While she's crying and can't move. This is such a worst emergency care system.
Update: it's been more than 3 hours now and we're still waiting... Absolutely poor service. You don't need to ask for our information, that doesn't help at all! Improve your Emergency Room system!!!!
Update: After 4.15 hours, we were admitted inside the ER to be seen by the Dr. What I've noticed is that most of the patients in the ER are not really emergency. I hope you will have a system/process that will guage the level of emergency to determine who needs critical care first than others who just don't want to set an appointment with the Dr. Or not willing to wait for an appointment. I know everyone needs care, but there should be a criteria based on how critical the patient is. You really have a serious problem on your system/process. You have great doctors but you have horrible system.
Your phone line is outrageously busy too, when we called the nurse advice line, our waiting time is 1 hour 31 minutes as per IVR. Then I chose call back, someone called back but I missed it and you never call again. But on your IVR, it stated that if you can't contact me, you will try again. That's not what happened.
I hope and pray that you will fix your system/process lapses.
UPDATE AS OF JULY 12, 2024: I just watched the news in YouTube about a man died after a long wait on ER at Kaiser Vallejo! YOU REALLY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR PATIENTS! FIX YOUR STUPID ER PROCESS! I HOPE YOU WILL FACE TONS OF LAWSUITS DUE TO YOUR VERY...
