Edit: Prices went way up, it's barely a good deal here anymore. Especially the European food section. A lot of the stuff is priced higher than the local European markets I frequent. Still cheaper than a supermarket but go to And some of their stuff is more expensive than Walmart like their dairy section. Kefir Lifeway's for $5 is laughable. Walmart is less than $4.
Be sure to look at dates. I get that the idea is to sell stuff a little past date so it's cheaper but some things are years past best by and it's stuff you shouldn't consume that far past. Like fruit beverages and condiments.
Also they throw away way too much produce. It's nice when they set it out for people to take but the majority of the time its tossed into the dumpster forcing poor people to dumpster dive.
It's great, prices are great and I love their frozen section but for every day items and pantry items it's hit and miss what'll be in stock. Items are mostly past best by but usually still good, I never got anything that was spoiled. The store is definitely a lot better than it used to be. It's changed hands a lot and is finally in the hands or someone who wants a clean store that's well lit and doesn't stink. I hope it stays this way.
The only problem is the horrible location. Good luck getting a shopping cart because they are always being stolen and the customers are some of the rudest people I've ever ran into. One woman leaves the store with her cart and I needed a cart and said I'd take it but her friend said she was going to use it. I couldn't get a cart so I figured screw it and just left. That woman never entered the store, she literally just put the cart back in the cart return and left, she just didn't want me to have the cart. Every time I shop there I deal with some jerk like this. So expect rude customers but at least the...
Read moreI warn all of you don't go to these places we bought some items that was 3 months past the pull date meat that was bad was 3 months past the date tea that tasted like dirt almost did not want to give a credit or nothing
i was told by Tammy a manger there that you buy at you own risk and we don't honor returns or credit so again she even a manger said buy at your own risk funny as all the other places check pull dates to make sure they are safe that is why those places take a item back when it is a bad product
Safeway Fred Meyers Grocery Outlet Walmart Albertsons and about 10 others so i will not go here or the others as ones in Portland said they follow that too even if it has mold out of date spoiled what every
now i know why there are cheap they are selling bad and out of date food that should be throw out by the food laws of Washington and Oregon I may even send to them
one final thing is i bought a thing of ice cream that was was already milting in the freezer I thought freezers was supposed to keep things old?
so buy at your own risk *according to the manager) when you buy from these places not me my health is more important than saving 1 dollar on a item that won't take it back
I guess sales or money is more important that someone health
I should say at least the cashiers are nice and helpful as they have no control over things but when i wanted to get a credit the manager Tammy whispered to the cashier not to do this again as these can not be credited and they buy at there own risk what a thing to say I guess he said it lowed voice as she did not want the customers checking out to hear funny
oh well like i said i will go somewhere i can maybe pay 50 cents more but know i can take it back without a being treated badly
I hope this will closed down as it is...
Read moreI hate to make this edit, but success can be a sad thing. The place has been hopping! There is a new owner. Prices are going up. For the first time you have to check and make sure it’s lower than a regular market, which would be okay, if things were always fresh, but part of the adventure was things were so cheap, if you got something a little stale, you just threw it away. Before, if you stumbled on something really good, you bought a lot of it, because tomorrow it might be gone. Now, you better but a lot, because the price will go up. It’s a pity, I get they need to make a profit, but the place is not the adventure it used to be.
We are fairly well off financially. Going to a regular market will not break the bank, but is also not nearly as much fun. I love a deal. Going to everyday Deals is very much like going to the yard sales, you never know what you might find. The store is in a constant flux of fun deals and interesting items. The one rule is, if you find something you like, go ahead and buy a lot because it might not ever be there again... The Nutella bread stick packs were a blistering deal, the Bang soda drinks and the Newman' Ice tea became a staple here for months. We still talk about the Pretzel Bread, which we loved and hasn't been seen again. In short, it's...
