It's so sad when a quality, fairly priced, locally sourced restaurant suddenly changes things up, for the worse. I have eaten twice at my Local Burgerville in the past week and the quality of the food has drastically changed. Last night my partner and I had dinner there - 4 piece fish and chips, sub sweet potato fries for regular, a number 6, and a 22 oz iced tea - all for the low (sarcasm to follow) price of $31.00 and a $3.00 tip.
Now let's get in to the weeds. The fish is no longer Halibut, it's Pacific cod and the pieces of fish looked like thin, cookie cutter "fillets", not at all like the flaky Halibut they used to serve. The sweet potato fries tasted waxy and were definitely prepackaged frozen imitations of the plump, cut in store fries they used to serve. My partner and I love fish and chips, but if I want fast food fish I will go across the street to McDonalds and get a fish sandwich now. As for my #6, Carmen Ranch grass fed and finished burger, well, can you say cardboard?! Way overcooked, dry, and I seriously doubt it even started out as a quarter pound of meat. Such a sad waste of quality beef. Finally the Arnold Palmer (iced tea and lemonade mixed together.) The menu said fresh brewed tea and fresh squeezed lemons. I asked the cashier if the lemonade was squeezed in house. She said, "oh no, we get it in frozen." Okay, I get that, bit it tasted like powdered lemonade to both my partner and I.
I get that the cost of everything has gone up, but when your reputation is built on quality, great tasting fast food, and then you start serving cheap, mass produced, overpriced food, maybe it's time to give it up. I'd still go there if they continued to serve the same high quality food they used to, even if they raised the prices to keep the quality, but alas, they have seen my last $35.00.
10/21/25: Well, since Burgerville responded to me and told me to come back and try again, I thought I’d give them another chance. So I stopped by for lunch the other day and ordered the fish and chips and got exactly the same crap. Small, dry, stamped out pieces of cod and waxy tasting frozen sweet potato fries. I took one bite of the fish and ate a couple of fries while I was sitting in the parking lot and decided you know what, I’m not paying for this junk. So I got back in the order line and told the person on the speaker that I wanted a return on my lunch. They were actually really friendly and said no problem. Just pull ahead to the second window and we’ll refund your money. They were very nice about it, and when I asked why they switched to cod the woman at the window said.” I heard that halibut is in short supply this season but we should be getting it back soon.” This reviewer will never spend another dime to find out if they ever bring back halibut and hand, cut sweet potato fries. So sad.😢 I forgot to mention that a small portion of lousy tasting fries and four tiny pieces of fish cost me almost $15. I know the price of everything is higher these days but that is...
Read morethis is coming from someone who has worked here in the past, the prices are high and may seem over priced compared to mcdonalds, but thats because McDonalds uses cheap and frozen meat. burgerville has real hormone free, no additive meat. 90% of product from burgerville is fresh. i see alot of people complaining about the wait time and prices of the food itself. so here are some tips, if youre looking for the fastest times to get food, try before 11am, 3-4pm, or 7-9pm. anywhere in those times skip the lunch and dinner rush; also your order will take longer if you order anything halibut, the chicken tenders or even the crispy chicken. we always have meat on hand, if youd like the meat fresh off the grill, just ask. now to the prices, recently the minimum wage has gone up, therefore the food prices have gone up as well, notice the dollar menu at mcdonalds in now a dollar fifty? you get two mc chickens, that were a dollar, now you get two for three dollars; this same concept applies to burgerville. not to mention that the burgers cost so much because theyre made from finer ingredients than most fast food places, except for maybe arbys. if youre a senior or a Vet there are also discounts available for you so make sure to utilize that. what some people dont understand yes we work at a fast food place, we try our hardest to get things ready fast and correctly but we're not just the cashier or drive through workers, were human too, we make mistakes every now and then and a good 80% of the time we'd offer you something in return for the mistake. Which, by the way, is harder to do when there are over 20 people in line; which is another reason why if you come in and the tables are dirty, we'd try and clean them regularly but if we had just finished with a rush or are in one we couldnt spare time to do that because helping you guys were our primary concerns. so before you try and give burgerville a bad rep for being overpriced, messy, or bad at getting orders right please remember all this and try and put yourselves in their shoes. ill gladly answer...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this location, literally my entire life and tonight I’ve decided I will never return to it not even for a burger through the drive-through. Because I didn’t give them a tip when I ordered to eat in the dining room I did bring cash to leave a tip when I was done eating after I’ve been served because I don’t believe in giving tips before I even know what kind of service I’m gonna receive but since I was left to sit out there for 20 minutes as people who came in after me ordered their food got it and we’re able to leave before I even got my food. I didn’t leave them a tip at all. I was just sitting out in the dining room waiting. I had to go ask where my food was and when they brought me my food, they forgot the milkshake that I had ordered. They didn’t bring me any napkins so I had to pick up my purse and my phone and walk across the restaurant and get napkins and then return my food. I think if you spent $20 on two cheeseburgers and a milkshake they should bring you the entire meal all at once they shouldn’t, serve people that come in after you before you and you want a tip then be like everybody else and once you’ve provided the service allow people to give you a tip based on that service that you’re providing I didn’t receive any service. They were so busy that they could serve all the people in the drive-through and all the other people in the restaurant but the one person that was dining in the restaurant was left without their food for 20 minutes as everybody else got theirs and left. I actually had an employee tell me that it’s not the employees that are asking for the tip. It’s the computer, like it hasn’t been all over the news that Burgerville employees are asking for tips on top of their wages. as I left the restaurant, I heard employees calling after me saying goodbye. We appreciate you for nothing and other rude stuff like that. I cannot believe their manager even allows them to...
