Stay Away. I went to Melinda to get my regrowth bleached, and I thought I was in good hands since she says she's a blonde expert. After a few hours and nearly $200 later I walked out of the salon with a large yellow band all around my head, she did not lift my hair properly. I decided to purple shampoo it first just to make sure it was actually an issue with the lifting, and that made it worse. So I messaged her and asked her if she could fix it. I got a passive aggressive message back saying that she probably would've noticed the yellow when she was doing it the first time (I'm positive she did, there's a certain way hairdressers look at and touch your hair when they messed something up) but that she would fix it for me, but she couldn't fit me in for another three weeks. I tired to be understanding but I was already pretty upset at the state of my hair. The day before my appointment she cancelled on me, so we had to reschedule for another week out. A full month I had to walk around with my hair looking awful, but she didn't seem to care. When I finally made it in to the salon the second time she didn't really speak to me at all or ask me what I wanted her to do. If she had, I would have told her to not touch my roots because they hadn't grown out enough to be bleached and doing so would damage my hair (literally bleach 101). But she didn't ask, and it wasn't until she was halfway done applying the bleach that I realized that's what she was doing. The second process did lift my hair the rest of the way, but it broke off a decent amount of my hair because she put bleach on areas that weren't ready for it. AND she still charged me to fix it. I would give zero stars if I could, if you're all over blonde do not trust them with your hair. You will end up with hair that is damaged, looks awful, and you will have to just deal with your hair looking like garbage until they feel like fixing it, at which point they will charge...
Read moreI went to Barby’s twice for a lash lift- first by Alexis and second by Tanya. My lash lift done by Alexis was perfect and I had a good experience with her. I wish I had gone to her the second time, as my experience with Tanya was less than satisfactory. Whatever solution is used to complete the lash lift was burning my eyes terribly because she (I’m assuming) was not careful enough to not let it drip into my eyes as this has never happened before during any of my lash lifts I’ve gotten in the past. I felt like I was bothering Tanya by mentioning the burning, and didn’t receive an apology as I could barely open my eyes at the end of the service. She also ended the service by telling me that my lash lift might not look as it should and my eyelashes were short and weak because I didn’t “wait enough time” in between services. I wish I would’ve known this beforehand. Obviously I take the blame for not waiting enough time in between services…but I would at least expect her to inspect the integrity of my lashes before performing a chemical service to them. All this to say, this was the worst lash lift I’ve ever received in terms of the results and how I was treated. I’d...
Read moreThis was actually the worst lash lift and tint I’ve ever had.
Total cost: $105 + $20 tip
Video taken immediately after service on 5/20. Photo was taken 5/26/23
First off, my lash artist Kayla was an hour late. I couldn’t leave before the service since they keep a deposit. (I should have left). The whole experience was unfortunate and uncomfortable.
I tipped her $20 since she decided to show up to her job for the day, but I’ve never had my lift/tint last less than 5 weeks. This service has lasted me less than a week and never looked good to begin with. I’ve also always gotten a lash brush and oil after any treatment I serviced, but alas Barry’s doesn’t do that either. Huge surprise there.
Definitely don’t go here. Save your time, effort, and lashes by going to Blink in Galloway.
Edit: since the owner responded- I was told by the girl at the front desk that Kayla was stuck in traffic and would not arrive at the salon until 4pm, not that she was with...
