This cafe had so much promise from its menu. But it has an incredibly rude owner. See my husband's review -- Dilip Rajagopalan -- and the rude response by the owner as confirmation of how this place treats customers. Shame on you. You act as if we saw an empty table and sat down. That is NOT what happened. We approached the entrance, asked for a table for two outdoors, was told to wait 10 minutes. The person we first approached was an older, short lady who directed us to one of the staff. That person told us there was an available table in the sun but if we waited 10 minutes, we could get a table in the shade. We agreed. We asked to see a menu while we waited. She provided one (young woman with dark hair in a ponytail.) NEVER ONCE did she or anyone say there was a list, or ask for our names, so we could put it on the list. In fact the older lady at one point, as we waited, offered us an indoor table, but we said we'd prefer to wait for an outdoor table. So either you LIE, or you run an incompetent establishment, or you have an issue with non-white customers patronizing your establishment. The staff person who asked us to wait, approached us after about 10 minutes, said the table needed to be wiped down. She did that, sat us at the table, said she would get us a second menu. She was friendly and polite, the way restaurant staff should be. Before she returned, the rude, older, bald man shouted at us, saying we could not sit here. No apology. Extremely rude. We resent the way you treated us, and as residents in the area, will make sure none of our friends or neighbors patronize you. Which is too bad, because we would have been regular customers. Shame on you for the way you run your business and treat customers. Double shame on you for your response to my husband's review. Suggest folks try 7311 Cafe in Ventnor, as we did. Really nice staff, excellent service and delicious food. You could learn a lesson or two...
Read moreJust took my family here for breakfast yesterday, the place is located on a really nice corner in vetnor new Jersey about a block and a half away from the beach, since it sits on the corner the resturant features many windows which make it pleasant to dine inside or out, (yes they have outside seating). As we walked in we were greated by a gentleman named nenad who immediately found a perfet table by a window for our little party of 4. Coffee and smoothies were out super fast and the smoothies were definitely guilt free because it was all healthy, nenad even asked if the kids had any allergies to anything (very thoughtful.) We ordered 2 heathy omelets one chocolate chip pancake and one orale Benedict , the flavors in all the dishes were fantastic, my wife and son loved the fluffy omelet made with egg whites turkey bacon plenty of swiss cheese topped with avocado, the homes fries were perfectly seasoned and not all broken up and mushy like in other places. My daughter had one huge chocolate chip pancake with some bacon and she destroyed it like a boss, now for the super star of this whole experience the Benedict was amazing, it was very clever how they sit the poched egg on two slices of sweet potato avocado and spicy chorizo topped with a beutiful hollandaise sauce that also shines in taste, the flavors clash in your mouth making a slightly spicy yet sweet explosion of taste followed by the creamy flavor of the avocado very sophisticated dish with a twist creativity , the decor in this resturant goes with the theme of antique bikes, very nice lighting inside and out, and the dish and cutlery selection is very European. All in all i recommend Velo cafe as a must visit if ever in the area definitely will not disappoint, i will...
Read moreI had resvered table for 5 for dinner with friends in town. Two of us ordered seafood pasta that came with mussels , as it was as late dinner after 8, we all we’re hungry and ate pretty quickly with pasta, by the time my friend got to the mussels, she told me not to eat it as mussels were spoiled. We told the waitress the mussels were spoiled, she said they only serve the freshest food and did nothing. As is a special occasion that friends came to visit for a late night concert, we were upset but stilll go ahead and paid and leave and didn’t want to make a lot of noise in tge restauant. During the concert, my stomach was hurting all the way through as my stomach is very sensitive to unfresh food. Again, as I was hosting the gathering, I didn’t have the time to address it immediately as I have drive them home the next time and had many activities the following day. About a week later, I remember to call tge restaurant again and ask for the manager or owner and explained what happened, The lady who pick up the phone insisted that they only serve fresh food, and told me manager or owner are not there. I told her to ask tgem to call me back, and she said ok. I never got a phone call from anyone. I am very surprised that restaurant would ignore when customer told them they served spoiled mussels and caused me hurting through the concert and upset guests who paid for the very expensive dinners , $ more than $50 a head. The indoor seates were very limited and seats were very low and uncomfortable and portion were very small. We were very disappointed and spoiled our special occasion to gather in Atlantic city for the concert. Would not visit or recommend this...
