Giant Eagle Supermarket — Local services in Vermilion

I am moving to the area and thought I would give this store a try. I've been a regular Kroger shopper in Sandusky and Las Vegas where I was living previously. The Kroger chains in Vegas and Sandusky were similar with fair prices. During my visit, I found prices on produce to be a dollar higher per pound (prices on peppers, celery, lettuce, and tomatoes). These are just a few examples of the price variances I found. The store conditions were not up to my expectations, either. Looking up at the ceiling when I entered; stains and mold on the ceiling. This is a place selling fresh food? The appearance does not instill food safety confidence to shoppers. In fact, it appears this retailer doesn't care about the people they serve. They have no olive bar, butcher with prime cuts and fish, and no gourmet cheeses. What they do sell is priced higher than the better quality products at Kroger in Sandusky or Heinens in Avon. This is very unfortunate for the Vermilion community. In fact, I feel that this retailer is preying on the elderly citizens in the community who are unable to travel to other communities...

Went in to vermilion pharmacy Friday 3/22 approx 1pm blood clot meds for a DVT I have.. explain having trouble filling the meds that are critical to the long dark hair skinny lady working. She immediately tells me that there having problems with secondary insurance and that’s that I said well it’s from the ER for a trial pack that I really need she proceeds to get a bigger attitude saying she knows her job and I don’t need to explain anything. And my life is on the line with this DVT in my leg and right out of the gate this lady has attitude and doesn’t want to hear or help me. Horrible horrible to be in medical industry and treat a customer this way. Drug mart called me back and found a solution so I would never ever use your pharmacy and will get my family to change as well as any friends and anyone I have contact with until the day I die just know that....

I'm pretty disappointed at how rude a few cashier's are there. I was doing a self check out and my credit card had expired. Which was my fault, I got a new card and never switched it out (busy and just totally forgot). So I let the cashier know my card expired and I had to go home and get the new one that I had that was mailed to me. She said ok, to just come to customer service when I come back. As I was leaving I heard another cashier say "she isn't coming back" followed by the other cashier saying "I know"... Was that really necessary? When I DID come back, I let her know how rude they were. That people's cards do expire and stuff happens. Of course she played the deny game and as I left once again, I heard laughing etc... Giving 2 stars because I usually have always had a good experience...
