I called them on Wed check the availability of picnic shelter for coming Saturday, their rep (a male rep) told me that they have 2 picnic shelters available and in order to book I have to come in-person to their Vernon Hills office. For some reason I couldn't go and then I called them again on Thursday, the female rep told me that they have only one computer and someone is already working on that computer and they will call me back in 10minutes. I waited for 10 minutes and called them back, one female rep answered my call and asked to me reach out to Jenny the manager. I immediately called the manager Jenny and left a voice message. after 5mins I received a call from Vernon Hills (at 8:19pm) Park District and they told me that one picnic shelter is available and I need to come in person to book it and they were closing in about 40minutes. I told them I can't make to their office in 40 minutes and I will come to their office Friday. On Friday I re-arranged and shuffle all my morning meetings/appointments and drove for 50minutes to go to their office to book the available shelter. I reached their about 945-10ish and called them from their parking lot to confirm the address of the picnic shelter so that I can take a look at it before booking. the male rep told me that they can't book and the Jenny the manager will call me back.
After 10minutes I received a call from Jenny and she said they can't book a shelter for this coming Saturday the park district is short on employees for the cleanup. I was like no words, I drove for 50minutes and went their based on the information their reps provided and after reaching their Jenny was saying they can't book. I was very much disappointed and explain the sequence of events to Jenny and she said she will call me back after reaching to park district authorities. She called me back after may be 40minutes, I waited their for her call and started from their to my home and I was half way through to my home I received a call back.
I think Vernon Hills Park district needs to improve their customer service in terms providing the accurate time. Otherwise many more people might have to waste their time in this regard.
I hope Vernon Hills Park district will take a constructive...
Read moreI recently visited a picnic shelter at Cynthia Peterson Park that I was considering reserving for an upcoming event. When I initially checked it out, it seemed like a decent spot, but after officially reserving it and taking a closer look, I was shocked at how much worse it appeared. The shelter was covered in stains and graffiti, making it look neglected and far from ideal.
I understand that itâs an outdoor space, but the level of cleanliness was unacceptable. I expressed my concerns to the park district manager and requested that the shelter be cleaned before my event. Unfortunately, I was basically told, âit is what it is,â with no indication that any effort would be made to improve the situation. This lack of concern for maintaining the parkâs facilities was disappointing, especially after I had already committed to the reservation.
If youâre considering this location for your event, I would strongly recommend picking somewhere else. The shelterâs current state is a major drawback, and the lack of responsiveness from the management only adds to the frustration. I hope the park district takes this feedback seriously and works on better upkeep of...
Read moreI am highly disappointed with the person sitting in the reception named as "Lindsey" . I went their to inquire about welcome kit that's given to the first time season pass holder. She was very rude and did not know anything about the kits. You would assume that there should be person at the reception who understand customer problems and know things. I would suggest to move her somewhere else where she doesn't have to interact...
