Shear Elegance — Local services in Vernon

My experience at Shear Elegance was far above any other salon I have been to. First off the price was very affordable for a cut and color. I had the privilege to work with Joel. I know it's not easy when a customer comes in undecided and asking for suggestions. As a new mom I needed something different. He gave a new exciting color, dark but a little fun, and a cut that was easy maintenance. All of this while being personable and talking about how to control my post partum curls. The amazing customer service didn't stop there. I was unsure about the layering in the back so he assured me that if I felt the same way in the morning to call and he'd fix it so I was more comfortable. I did end up calling later that night. The next day I went in and by the way I described what I didn't like he was able to add more layers and take out the bulk of my thick hair. He also adjusted the color just a tiny bit so it was toned down. On top of this more than willing attitude to make sure my needs were met Joel gave, me some products to use on my curls because I had to come back. I had a wedding to attend that weekend. He offered what he called a "spoil visit" where he gave a wash and blow out and showed me techniques to use to gain control. Every single time I got there I was welcomed with a smile and felt wholeheartedly that I was listened to and what I wanted was important, and that I was put firs.. The work was done efficiently and neatly. My hair cut still feels fresh a week later. I definitely recommend and have been when I am asked where I got my hair done it looks so good. Joel from Shear Elegance in Vernon, CT is the best colorist I've ever encountered. When my color was ROYALLY messed up from another colorist, I found him by recommendation. THEN I discover he was a former hair color chemist for Proctor and Gamble before they closed that division! A real expert- not just someone who loves to do color, but someone who is a bona-fide expert in color. SCORE! 4 years now- I even fly back from Florida in the winter to have him do my color each month. You won't regret going there, and he will make it right the first time.
