My family was so happy to find Sonrisas Assisted Living for our Dad. He was in a memory care residence for several years, and his care consistently diminished to the point of the family being extremely concerned about his lack of care. When we found Sonrisas, it was like finding Dad a home, not just a place where we hoped he would get good care. From day one everyone was so welcoming. I always got a smile and a hello when I walked in. I could always find out from staff how my Dad was doing. How he ate, if he had a good day, if he was agitated for any reason…. I can’t speak highly enough about the staff. They are truly dedicated people. I would not hesitate to stay there myself if and when the time arises. Dad was able to pass in a comfortable environment, where people cared about him. My siblings and I sat with him for hours, and staff was always there for us for whatever we needed. The tears in everyone’s eyes when Dad did pass confirmed that the people there actually care about the residents and their families. With Dad’s memory issues, he needed some special cares. Everyone was open to our suggestions and the suggestions of Hospice. Not once did anyone make us feel like they didn’t have time, or that it was an unreasonable request. I highly recommend Sonrisas...
Read moreOur families' experience with Sonrisas has been very positive. The owner lives on the premises. She does everything she can to personalize the care of each resident. She also addresses any concerns promptly and works in cooperation with any outside caregivers such as Hospice. Each resident has their designated comfy chair in the shared living room. They may bring personal items from home. My mother-in-law was a resident there. Years later when my mother needed care there was no question in our minds where we wanted her to stay. Luckily there was an opening. The facility is sparkling clean and there is a beautiful garden and sitting space in the back. The food is prepared on site and is organic and fresh as much as possible. I can give Sonrisas a positive review...
Read moreMy aunt lived at Sonrisas for almost 10 years. She was so very well taken care of--not just physically, but emotionally too! The care was exceptional--dietary, medically and personally. The extras went above and beyond--golf cart rides on the bike trail to have lunch in Mt. Horeb, pontoon rides, pedal bicycles, movies, custard trips, etc., etc., etc. Sonrisas is classified as an adult family home, but it is much, much more like a home. Kathy, the owner, went so far as to purchase a pair of birds as pets to entertain my aunt and the other residents. Other activities on site were provided on a regular basis. Lovely outside patio/garden. If residents who lived there required more help, the staff adjusted. They provided wonderful,...
