Verona Public Library — Attraction in Verona

One of the staff refused to give me a refund from the photocopy machine even after I proved that I had not received the copies. Turned out that the toner cartridge needed to be replaced. Never received an apology. I cannot give this library more stars because it condones the use of the public computers by teenagers playing video games like "Grand Auto Theft" when they either should be in school or doing something more productive. I have witnessed this scene repeatedly and when I brought it to the attention of staff, I was met with a nonchalant attitude. This library is very pretty and has a great selection however there is a librarian that works in the children and teen area that is very rude. We have been to many libraries in the Madison area and they have all been wonderful, inclusive, and welcoming so it was disheartening to have the opposite experience at Verona Public Library. I would advise others to visit literally any other Madison library. I had heard that Verona area was not as welcoming as other areas of Madison and I can see why after interacting with someone so rude. Libraries should feel welcoming and inclusive to everyone. Really enjoyed bringing my kids here. They have a big castle to read in in the middle of the children's area as well as other toys, climbables, and of course a large selection of books. It's quite tight to move about when there's a lot of families so I could imagine an expansion in their future.

Update: still love it. Could be bigger for children's area. Don't know just how new it is, but there is a new mother's room in the children's area. Takes up some valuable real estate, just kind of strengthening the need for...
