Hello every one hope you all and your family's are staying safe and healthy. I just wanted to share my experience at the vista, CA Northgate market on 4/30. I want to start by saying I usually love going to northgate they have the best cocina and bakery. Their employees are always super helpful But this time around I bought 12 lbs of arrachera meet at $6.99 a lb a cake for most people it might not seem like a lot but at this point in time its a luxury to me due to hours at work being cut, the kids not attending school due to our current pandemic seems like grocery bill keeps getting bigger and bigger but decided to splurge little for my daughter's 10th birthday dinner. She has not seen the entire family for a while because of mandatory quarantine so she was excited to have a couple of cousins over for her birthday but unfortunately the experience was ruined by the awful meat that I purchased at Northgate it tasted old and almost expired i had to toss away most of the 12lbs of meet since everyone decided to get full with the rice, beans and side dishes because they hated the taste of the meat and were afraid of getting sick from eating it. I KNOW we are going through hard times but come on Northgate its not fair for you to sell that type of product other then ruining my doughters birthday day BBQ I feel like I was robbed since I got nothing in return specially in this time of hardship . I don't have the recipe any more. Not sure if I can get a refund or what can be done to correct this...
Read moreOnly reason it gets 1 stars is because it’s convenient for me to shop there as it is right across my home. Customer service is extremely bad here, definitely room for improvement. The cashiers NEVER greet you instead of acknowledging the customer they are chit chatting amongst each other. Once asked to speak to management it’s the same attitude if not worse then what the cashiers give you. I understand this store is busy but that is no excuse for this type of treatment. Last week I had stopped by the cashier didn’t acknowledge me just started scanning away, I accidentally had the wrong debit card and simply asked her if she could please hold my groceries there is an ATM about 15 stars from the cashier. I took my cash out went back to the cashier just to the side of her and she pointed and said you have to get in line. I simply asked her why since the groceries were all there with her and she said well you can go to another cashier if you want. I asked to speak to the manager and all he said was for me to just go get in line at a different cashier. I know it’s not a big deal and I lost my place in line but how hard was it for them to explain it nicely I’m so frustrated and definitely not stepping foot...
Read moreKinda done coming here... I don't speak Spanish but I just like the food. I was at the 1st cashier line and there was an older caucasian lady in front of me and the cashier greeted her in English and spoke to her in English. I am of Hispanic decent therefore when I went up to the cashier she started speaking to me in strictly in Spanish... I responded in English but for some reason she decided to ignore me and then said something in Spanish and did NOT understand her whatsoever so I just I felt awkward and didn't say anything back. She then reacted extremely offended and crumbled my receipt on what I was buying. This NOT is the first time I have this interaction with this specific cashier... she always dismisses the fact that I don't understand nor speak Spanish. I also find it EXTREMELY DISCRIMINATING and RACIST that she only speaks in English to lighter skinned customers basically if you look "American" to her and if you're not caucasian she refuses to speak English to people that are non Spanish speakers. She's always in the 1st cashier next the tortillas right next...
