Feel like we've been cheated and lied to by staff. Today January 4th, my son and I fell in love with two sculpture pieces. A Charles H. Russell "Indian Head Bust" for $99.00 and Frederic Remington "Indian Rider on a Horse" priced at $159.00 I knew that they were priced very low, even for reproductions. I discussed this with my son and one of the staff said to the other that she should do some research on them. I told the women that we would be back with my husband for him to see and that we wanted them regardless of them being reproductions. They discussed that they needed to research them and I told them that they had to honor me the price that they'd shown to me and they didn't look very happy at that. I returned less than 2 hours later with my husband. He immediately looked over the Russell piece and said that although it's a reproduction, it's an excellent piece to buy. He wanted to look a the Remington closer, so I asked one of the ladies at the front desk for a magnet and magnifying glass and if they could turn the Remington around or move them to another table so we could have a better look. I went to grab The Russell, but my husband said that he didn't want me to move it, but to have one of The employees move both of them for us. The one lady came back to where the two pieces were, she moved the Russell to a table and then said that the Remington was too heavy and she just turned it around so he could see if better. I wanted to get out of the crowded space, so he had more room. She came back and said so, which one of you is paying for it. I said that I was and told husband to go to the car to get out the boxes and bubblewrap that I had brought. I thanked them for bringing up the Russell for us and told them that I couldn't find the price tag for the Remington. The lady told me that she had The price tag up there,at their desk. She also told me that the Russell was sold. I was so SHOCKED and horrified asking how could that happen, when my husband and I were the only ones there looking at them. She said that she had sold it, I Demanded to know how this could happen! She said that she sold it over the phone on Face-Time and the woman was in her way to get it, I asked again, how could she sell it under our noses, when we were there in the store and asked her to move it for us to have the better look and that we wanted them both. Then, she said that the woman had come in the day before and that she called today while we were there and said she was coming to buy it. I knew they were lying! I asked why on earth didn't she tell us as she was moving it to the counter that there was another person interested in buying it on the phone. I am so distressed over this and told them that we were there in the store to buy it and she didn't have the decency to ask or confirm with us wherher we wanted it or not. They both acted as if it was no big deal and sorry that we hadn't told them we wanted to buy it. I gave them my name and number and said that I would call later to see if s on wine actually picked it up. My husband and I were both in disbelie over their blatant disregard. I called the store after 4:00 and was told that it was picked up. I told her how upsetting this was to us. I asked to have a copy of the purchase sale to this other person was made over the phone during the time that we were in their store. She said oh, she's a regular buyer from us and we call to let her know when we have something special that she'd like in. WOW, a different story now isn't it! THEY actually called her to let a regular know that we wanted to buy something that she might be inter rested in. She admitted that the purchaser had NOT been in tg e day before and was calling them to see if they still had it....
