The Vista Farmers Market is great place to find fruits, veggies, eggs, nuts, milk, meat, keifer, kombucha, turmeric, smoothies, flowers, plants, bread, and local crafts.
I encourage everyone to visit the farmers market for healthy options and to support our local small businesses.
It is easy to access off of highway 78 and Melrose drive in the Courthouse parking lot.
This Local Farmers Market is huge with ample parking. The vendors are able to spread out with large isles and everyone wears masks. Pets are not allowed.
Support your local vendors. There is everything from local farms including Veggies, Cheese, Proteins, Honey, Nuts, Eggs, Chocolate, Fresh baked Bread, locally grown plants, including native plants, and vendors including Prepared Food and drinks including Healthy, Vegetarian, and Vegan options. Don’t expect to have a place to gather and sit during the pandemic. Most people will pull-up a curb. Most food vendors use compostable packaging. Bring a bag from home to carry your veggies. There are porta-potties and a hand-washing station. Bring your well-loved books to swap.
There are at least a half a dozen vendors that sell live plants. Sue-Lin will provide a box to carry all of your organic garden starts. She has been my go-to for years for my garden transplants. She has a wide variety for every season. Her plants are always healthy and disease free. My garden flourishes with her plants.
Big Joy Family Bakery has amazing baked treats! I love the vanilla bean bread pudding and the macaroons. I can’t believe it’s vegan!
The Rush Coffee truck makes coffee that is not bitter and correctly brewed, unlike most big name coffee places. Besides the coffee, I love the Chai-Tea Latte and the London Fog.
Gaytan Family Farms has a wide selection of produce, eggs, berries, and my favorite chips and salsa in town.
JR Organics has subscription produce boxes for this who like fresh produce on a regular basis.

Read moreWent to the Farmer's Market on 10/4/20 for the first time in a while. Easy to park and a lot of vendors from veggies to dessert to breakfast/lunch items. The vendors were very nice but what was a huge disappointment were the Porta Potties. One of the 3 was not working and the one I went in was disgusting. It was more than 1/2 full and there was trash on the floor and the smell was horrible. It said it had not been cleaned since 9/23/20 and that was believable. To add to it the 2 washing stations were funky, there was no soap in pumps and there was only a dish with bits of used soap in it. I am shocked that the organizers think that this is acceptable especially since we are in Covid. It is not acceptable in the best of times. I stopped by the information counter and told the gal working there and she claimed that they had just been serviced and she had checked them herself that morning. There is no way that they had just been serviced and if they are that bad, they should get an extra one. I also mentioned for the amount of vendors selling food that there was not hardly any seating and she said Oh there is enough, that's all we put out today. (my friend and I sat on a curb to eat our crepes) Again its difficult to social distance if there is no where to sit. Shame on you Vista and the Farmer's Market; you obviously do not respect your vendors and customers. I won't...
Read moreOldest farmer's market in San Diego, and I believe the largest... An absolute dream. At least 6 long aisles full of farmers, artisans, and food... The parking lot is huge, and the organizers do an excellent job at making sure there is a very wide variety of offerings. The food alone is worth it, but on a single visit I counted at least 10 farmers, and there were handmade baskets from Ghana, clothing, crocheted items, handmade pasta, artisan breads, handmade soaps, jewelry, micro greens, mushrooms and mushroom growing kits, fine cheeses... The list goes on and on. Some markets have lots of booths taken up by vendors passing out business flyers... Not so much here. Just the stuff you're looking for, and lots you didn't know you were. So worth a...
