Took my inherited sewing machine and serger here to have tuned up before attempting to use. Was told the price for service was $46 but would be more if parts were needed, but they would call first. Was told to give them 4 days to look them over. 2 weeks later I called since I had heard nothing. They told me both machines were ready. When I showed up only the sewing machine was ready. The kid who waited on my didn't even know what a serger was so took him a while to locate it. I was told the repair guy was about to work on the serger and it would be ready by the following Saturday (this was Saturday morning). The charge to service the sewing machine was $63 and when I asked why, the kid said he couldn't tell me because there were no notes what had been done or if any part had been replaced.
I showed up the next Saturday and after looking a while they finally found it on the workman's bench. They said they had no idea if it was ready or not. They asked if I had been called and I stated I had not ever received any contact from them and was going what I had been told the previous Saturday.
I was called today and told my serger was ready. The older guy was making out a deposit and seemed irritated he had to stop and wait on me. He found my serger and told me the fe would be $73. There were notes stating they made adjustments but again no documentation explaining why the higher fee. I didn't question the older man based on the previous horrible customer service they had shown me.
AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU WANTED TO BE PROVIDED QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will make the drive to Troy the next time I need to have them serviced...
Read moreWe just bought a washer/dryer and fridge for our Waco AirBnB. After having a nightmare of an experience with a national chain that rhymes with Home Depot, we turned to Discount Vacuum and Appliance. Wish I'd have gone their first but we live in Round Rock and just didn't know how good the folks at Discount are. We went in on a Saturday morning, talked to one of the sales folks at Discount who helped us find the perfect washer/dryer and refrigerator for our compact space literally within 2-3 minutes. We were out the door in 15 minutes and they even delivered it same-day (David and Tommy were great installers and quite friendly). I know the expectation is within 1-2 business days but they were even faster! We had an issue with a leak after running the wash cycle and they sent a tech same-day who diagnosed the problem not with the washer but with the drain in the house which is new but just couldn't handle the water for whatever reason. Please, do yourself a favor, stop doing business with big box stores that do not really care about the customer. Live local, buy local. These folks know what they are doing and they do right by the customer! My highest...
Read moreI purchased a "refurbished" washer from Discount Vacuum & Appliance. During the sales pitch, I was assured that all used appliances undergo testing and repair and will be in good working condition. Within five minutes of my first wash cycle, the washer began to leak water. There was half a gallon of water soaking through my wood floors. A leak of that magnitude would have been easily detected if the machine was actually tested for functionality. I have a unique circumstance which makes it hard for me to take it back. Upon calling the company, they refused to offer any kind of resolution (other than bring the heavy machine back 200 miles to be looked at) to ease the pain of having to spend an additional $200 to repair the washer myself. A professional appliance service company revealed the water pump was leaking and the rust stains on the water pump suggested the leak began at least five months ago (I made the purchase three days ago) . I received a "care- less" attitude during the phone call with the owner accompanied with "ma'am" language in an attempt to distract me from the...
