This is going to be lengthy, but I hope that that you read through to the end to get a good understanding of my experience. While not great, the wedding dress part of it was not bad - just underwhelming. Buying a wedding dress should be the most magical experience and I could not have loved my dress more. I'm the little girl who has always dreamed of my wedding day and the dress was phenomenal... the overall experience, however, was not. From worst to best - here's my review. AFTER buying my dress in November, I scheduled an appointment for bridesmaids dress shopping in February. I had all 8 of my girls with me, and they range in size from probably a 2-12 - pretty average sizes. After about 5 minutes of us looking around, an employee walked up to me and informed me that "other than her (my size 2 friend), nobody will be able to fit into any of these dresses". COMPLETELY inappropriate and rude. I thanked her and we left. This was 8 months ago and I’m still not over it. Not appropriate in any setting, but to hear that from someone in a salon as well-known and highly regarded as this one, it completely turned me off from possibly ever returning for another purchase. Not to mention, this is a fault of theirs for not carrying a more varied selection. Overall customer service in the front of the salon, from my perspective, was very poor. As someone who works in customer service, I was very underwhelmed - especially considering the amount of money I'm spending on one very important item that I could have purchased elsewhere. Again, Georgio's is known as one of the best around with many fans. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend strictly based on the overall lack of service every time I walked through the doors. Everyone seemed unhappy to be there, nobody acted like they wanted to help, and they made me feel like I was wasting their time. ON THE OTHER HAND, I cannot dote on Whitney in alterations enough. She was great at her job, she worked around my schedule to be as convenient as possible for me, she was funny, and very sweet. Without a doubt, Whitney was by-far the best part of my experience and I will definitely use her for alterations should I ever need them again. This entire experience honestly just made me sad. I don't think any bride should feel disappointed about any part of her dress - especially coming from such a well-known salon. I also know quite a few people who know the staff and/or owners and have said they received a completely different experience than myself. This, along with looking at others' reviews it's obvious that they're capable of good service, they just pick and choose...
Read moreLet me start this by saying that I knew I probably wasn’t going to find my dress here, but I was optimistic. My sister had gotten a dress from here and it was under $1000 so I was hopeful. I had heard plenty of amazing accounts from friends and family who had found there dream dress in this luxury experience. My experience was vastly different. Maybe it was just me, and I’m not into this style, but walking in I felt an immediate sense of I didn’t belong there and was unwelcome. They advertise a “VIP Experience” that essentially just put you more on display for everyone, and you got mimosas and cupcakes. They promptly said that I couldn’t do that and my stylist would be with me shortly and I could have a look at the dresses. I looked around and my entourage and I quickly noticed the hefty price tags. My stylist, Jazmin, came up to me, introduced herself, and called me by the wrong name. My anxiety about trying on dresses only got worse from then on. I tried to go out of my comfort zone and tried dresses I wouldn’t normally pick. The dressing room experience was heavily uncomfortable as she had me face a gigantic mirror half naked. At least at David’s they had a complimentary bustier and skirt I could wear while trying on items. She could see me full-frontal and it made me extremely self-conscious. That, coupled with the fact I wasn’t entirely comfortable with the dresses I picked, made for a bad few minutes of dresses. After a while, she picked up on my feelings and removed all the dresses from the dressing room (even ones I hadn’t tried on) insisting I wouldn’t like any of them. She didn’t seem to understand what I wanted, and didn’t listen when I said I wanted a specific veil because my sister already had it and it was going to be my something borrowed. She kept putting other veils on and this frustrated both me and my entourage. While I was showing my entourage a dress, she left me on the pedestal, in an uncomfortable dress, and said she’d go get the “plain ones” from the back. I only tried on two more dresses, and left. My anxiety was at an all-time high and another dress shop said they could get me in. While this experience may seem perfect and luxurious for some, I found myself anxious and trying to remember that I would find my...
Read moreA friend bought her wedding dress from Georgio's about 3 years ago, and recommended them. I decided to check them out, and was sorry I did... I expected a pleasant experience, but it left me very uncomfortable and confused. I was greeted, but not very cordially, by a consultant (I'll leave her name out). I told myself maybe she was just having a bad day or didn't feel well. She seemed polite, but unfriendly and cold. We were told we had to put our phones away, then later it was explained that it was because they didn't allow photos. Extremely frustrating to me, because I, as the bride, need them for later reference when making my final decision; I did NOT intend to steal designs, OR purchase online. The lady came in the dressing room with me, waiting for me to remove my clothes; no robe was offered. She brought a dress she got from the back, and it was what I was looking for. I asked for the brand, explaining that I'd like to see a photo online for future reference, since I wasn't allowed to take my own photos. She said the dress was "private label" and I couldn't find it online. They also explained that they have some private label gowns that are exclusive, which is why they don't allow photos. When I took the dress off, she took it out with her immediately, and I didn't have a chance to even verify if it had the labels every garment must legally have. I was very uncomfortable with her behavior, and didn't want to spend so much on something they wouldn't tell me anything about. Later, I went to another salon in the area, and from the best of my memory, they had the exact same dress, had the brand tags on the gown, and told me I could view the dress online, but they also allowed photos. They were extremely friendly, polite, professional and helpful. I had no misgivings about them, and purchased it from them. IF the dress I bought was indeed the same one Georgio's had (which I can't be 100% sure, since they don't allow photos), then Georgio's...
