I was craving some Italian today and I’ve heard good things about Baris. We’re told Baris is a Waco staple and one of the better Italian food places in Waco.

We walked in on a Saturday night at 7:30 pm with no wait. It was busy but there were a few empty tables. There was a smoke in the whole dining area which was unpleasant and it was pretty hot in there but I wondered if this was because of the pizza ovens.

Our service wasn’t bad but it wasn’t really great either. Our server was, what I noticed to be - inefficient. We knew what we wanted to drink and what appetizer we wanted but she would come to our table, drop off the menus then leave away quick. Then come back with silverware and then said she would be right back. Then came back for our drinks. She brought out two drinks and said she will be back with the other two. She brought out the other two and said she will be back. Brought out our bread and then again said she will be back to get our orders. Finally after she came back she and we ordered our food completely forgetting we wanted an appetizer. Then she brought us one plate of food at a time from the kitchen. She was nice and helpful but like I said— inefficient. I feel like with proper training she could have maximized our service and the table check thus making the restaurant more money and increasing her tip.

My calzone was good but dry. The cheese was gritty and not cheesy.

My girlfriends Dee’s special was amazing though. I really enjoyed that.

The French bread was amazing but I feel using real butter, not the little packets of margarine, would have been better.

I will go back for sure! This place is definitely due a...

On the recommendation of a friend of a friend we decided to try this place on Saturday night. The place is very popular and the parking is not the best situation. Even though they were busy, we were seated immediately as we arrived around 6:15pm. As a side note, there is a big MASKS REQUIRED sign on the outside of the building by the front door. We were not expecting that but decided to go in anyway. No one was wearing a mask and they did not even mention masks. We had Vanessa and she was a great waitress. We got our drinks quickly and they serve the best bread while you wait on the food. I ordered the Pasta Sampler which is a smaller portion than some of the other options. My wife ordered the Tortellini Pink. I ordered fried cheese as an appetizer and they were great as was the dipping sauce. The food came out in very timely manner and WOW, it was so good. We live in a town where there is an overabundance of restaurants and most of them are mediocre. This was the best Italian food we have had in a very long time. The Tortellini was wonderful and she could not finish it was so much. We did eat bread and fried cheese before. My sampler was fantastic. It was hot when it was brought to the table and it was delicious. We decided to have dessert and I had the chocolate mousse cake and she had the canoli. They were both excellent. We wish we had a place this good in our hometown. I highly recommend you give this place a try. I don't think you will be...

I must say “Baris” is amazing! We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door- drinks were served before we had a chance to open the menu - and fyi the lemonade was great ! Our server was Shannon and she knew the menu like her favorite novel. She was courteous and what I liked about her the most was the fact that she made our first experience at Baris personal… We weren’t just a table or a hopeful tip to her. She asked us our NAMES and remembered us by NAMES when we went back the seconed time. Let’s get to the food ;) it was spot on delicious ! It wasn’t served to fast or to slow ! Both mine and Joes plates arrived at the same time and we were shocked at the amount of food that was prepared for us. Yall the chicken Alfredo is so good ! The vegetable in it weren’t under or over cooked the sauce tasted like my mama was in the kitchen ! You guys have got to pay them a visit - go check it out !!! We took our left overs home and they were even better the next day !! Thank you Baris you guys out did yourself every time we have been there and we will continue to do so. Shannon you are an absolute doll and we sincerely wish you the best of everything good in life ! You work hard and you value people and for that amazing quality we thank you very much...

This place was absolutely the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. The parking lot is terrifying, I was very worried about my car being hit. There was a 45 minute wait on a table for 3. It smells bad inside. There was another 30 minute wait for our food once we were seated, and our waiter was not attentive at all. The rolls are literally frozen Hawaiian rolls like you would buy at Kroger served on paper plates. The pasta was absolutely nasty (and why wasn’t it in a bowl?!). It was over cooked, with BAGGED frozen vegetables and chicken. The sauce was runny and not sticking to the pasta or veg. I didn’t even eat a bite of the chicken because it looked so unappealing. I have no idea how this place exists, much less how it’s won awards. It‘s about the quality a super drunk college student would make at 4 am.

First time ever to this establishment. Was decently lonely until after we(wife, myself and sister) sat down to enjoy some delicious foods. We began with Pink Lemonade, Water and Dr Pepper with an order of fried mac and cheese and fried cheese ravioli. Our entrees consisted of Cannelloni, Shrimp and Chicken Fettucine Alfredo and Chicken Pink Tortellini. Ended with a slice of strawberry cheese cake. Let me just say, the food was delicious, just the Cannelloni was a tad bit too salty. The noodles in the Pink tortellini were delicious and the chicken in the alfredo was tad bit dry. I will definitely give them a 2nd try to see if any of their other dishes taste better than this visit. The strawberry cheesecake was definitely smooth and the graham crust soft as well also.
