I take my grandson to Urban Air at least weekly because he loves it so much. It gives him a chance to run/jump off all his excess energy and really helps him rest well at night. I have read some of the bad reviews made recently and I want to give a different perspective. 1) I saw a comment that the bathrooms were dirty, however I've never seen the bathrooms dirty when I went inside. On the weekends it is pretty busy and there are a lot of people in and out of the bathrooms, I'm sure that sometimes accidents happen, especially with children that are younger and inexperienced with "control", so I suggest if the restroom is dirty when you go inside, to alert a staff member so they can clean it. 2.) I've seen people complain about not being able to bring personal water bottles/mugs inside the building. Think about that for a minute before you complain. Staff has no way of knowing what you're bringing inside in that bottle. This is no different from any other business. Their job is to provide a safe environment for everyone to enjoy, which includes keeping things out of the building that shouldn't be there. 3.) There are numerous comments about not being able to wear other grippy socks besides Urban Air grippy socks. Not all socks are created equal. It's not their job to decide if the socks you want to wear are adequate to keep you safe. They know that their own socks are safe, and that's why they enforce that rule so strictly. It's not about money, it's about safety. Just wash and bring your socks back! It's that simple. 4.) I saw a comment that mentioned candy that couldn't be purchased because they didn't have a membership. One of the perks of an Ultimate membership is your child's choice oo a free bottle of water or 4 Dum Dum suckers each visit. The suckers are the only candy that is not "for sale". There is a jar inside the candy counter with the suckers in it and if I'm correct, it's marked "for membership only" on it. There are several other choices for purchase AND there is a very large candy dispenser in the front of the building that has numerous different candies in it. Membership has its perks, let us have that without complaints please! If you want your child to be able to have a blue sucker, buy a membership. I just think these complaints are ridiculous.
With all that being said, I have always had a positive experience at Urban Air Waco. It's always clean, the staff is always friendly and helpful and they are really great with my grandson. The staff that works the floor and in the climbing wall area are so patient and kind to the kids who like to try climbing. That's a very important thing in my eyes. Children want to try new things but are often shy or apprehensive about them, and the staff are always so understanding and really do a great job encouraging them and making them feel that they're in a safe space. I really appreciate that effort they give. Also, as a customer, I RESPECT their rules. They're in place for a reason. I don't think they are ever out of line for enforcing any of them. Consistency is what keeps the building and your children safe. I will continue to bring my grandson here, as often as he wants because he loves it and we really feel at home here. I don't worry about him at all when we're here because I know that safety is first here and staff does all they can to keep it that way. If you've never been to Urban Air Waco and you're thinking about bringing your children here, DO IT! As long as you understand that there are rules that they strictly follow, you'll definitely enjoy the experience. All rules can be found on the Urban Air Waco website. I wouldn't judge them by the poor...
Read moreI bought ultimate memberships for my children while standing in the urban air location in Waco. My youngest child is with me and the girl at the counter stopped me right before purchasing and said we should measure to make sure he was at the 48” line before I purchased to make sure if I needed ultimate for him or just deluxe. He was over. Then he gets to the attractions and are telling him he is too short. His head is literally on the line. I go back to the front to ask the same girl and she says she said he would only be ok for climbing walls. This is not what she said previously. She said he was totally fine for the ultimate. Then the other girl was like “Well, I’m sorry ma’am I can’t change his height.” In reality, this all started when an employee that was working that area wanted to go away from the attraction she was working to the back with another girl and walked away from him and another child that wanted to do the ropes course and I went and had her called back to it. So now I have unnecessarily paid for a more expensive membership than what I needed for my child who is at the correct height, because the employees are all teenagers and there is no adult here to actually moderate or get a response from. Sav, or Savannah is here supposedly in charge but not actually capable of running it. This is also the passive aggressive girl who stated she couldn’t change his height as if I was asking her to do that somehow? She then told me there was no need to be upset which I said, yes, there is because it is my money and it is the extra that it is now going to be charging me for a minimum of 12 months so of course I’m upset if he’s supposedly not tall enough to do the membership we paid for! Of course I would be frustrated that one employee told me one thing and another told me something entirely different. Don’t waste your money here. I already made the mistake, and I’m contract bound for 12 months on it. But now you don’t have to be and this is what you can...
Read moreFor this place to be one of very few places for kids in Waco to go, it is shotty at best. We came on an early Saturday afternoon and expected the place to be packed. What we didnt expect was every table but two to be occupied by a birthday party. We couldn't find a spot to sit for a break or change socks as all of the benches were full too. We have a 7yr and a 2yr old. So we decided to hit "the tubes" first. The Tubes is a flaming safety hazard !! If you make it up the smaller ramp please be sure your child does not fall through the huge gapping hole on the netting they hold on to that is overlooking the rest of the bldg. It looks as of they have tried patching it up but the kids keep pulling on it. If you make it that far, please be careful walking through the adjacent narrow walkway as there is another huge gapping hole that kids keep getting stuck in. Luckliy some kid pulled out the jagged metal piece poking from it and tossed it somewhere else in the area so watch for that too. If you make it to the slides, please don't grip the bar above you. Theres atleast 10 zip tie jagged edges that will poke your fingers. Dont ask the cafe for band aids, they wont have them. Also dont pay attention to the storage area next to the tubes where they stack random items. You may see the little nice mice scurrying around. If your bigger kid is small enough to go to the 7yr and younger section, make sure they dont have fun or they will be asked to leave that section. When they make it to the all jump section make sure to steer clear of the teens who jump hard as hell. They dont care if they knock a 2yr old or 7 yr old over. Dont mention it to the staff, nothing will be done about it.Had a horrible time and hopefully will find better things to do on a Saturday...
