Clean,well laid out,good selections esp if u like organic products. Pricing is average to higher on higher quality produce and meat/seafood items.IE: organics👍 Its worth the extra cost. I am going to talk about the shopping experience which is made 10 times better by the use of a handheld scanner. Once you enter the store you go to a kiosk scan in your card either manually from a key card or if you have it in your phone via the app. What a great bit of technology. This device allows you to grobag your groceries, price check, (mistake it can be deleted) and if you have the s&s app, electronic coupons can be loaded onto your card. Savings will be taken off as the item is scanned. Some savings only appear apon checkout. When you do check out you simply push checkout on the scanner and scan it at the register it counts as one item so you can go into any line and the glory of already having bagged your items means you do not have to scan each item and then bagged them it's much faster to check out. audits do happen occasionally and require a stop & shop employee to scan five or six items randomly in your cart this is a security measure. The store has recently taken checkout Bay's away and added a great an extremely convenient self checkout Bay which is monitored by an employee and allows them to view all the registers at once versus rows where they had to keep going back and forth and was harder to see a flashing light at a register. The parking lot is well-lit at night and is generally kept cart free of course we have to kind of do our part to put the carts in the corrals once we're done using them I'm not very familiar with the pharmacy or the floral department as I don't tend to go to those sections I definitely rate the store very highly. Stop & Shop is probably the best grocery store in Wallingford. Prices are a little higher than others. They produce is better than the other places usually and they have some of the special things that I like for example kombucha made by Master Blend. Their sales are usually pretty good and they have a markdown area in the very back end of the bread aisle. They have a great deli. The only thing I don't like is that the men's room always smells and you can smell it when you walk by. But that doesn't stop me from going there. The customer service is terrific and if you have a problem with anything that you buys they take it back no question. Around the dinner hour it can be very busy but in the morning and in the later evening it is not that busy and you can avoid some of the crowns. Floral area where you can get flower arrangements and gift balloons. They have a fish and seafood counter in the back where they offer Mannie Fresh types of seafood. You can sometimes get small package of cooked shrimp with a side of cocktail sauces for a snack. This is very good. I have another favorite the wild caught Cod! You can also get manager's special on the meat if you look at the tags closely. The management is reasonable if you have any issues but when it comes to things their product offerings they come down from corporate and you may not always be able to get what you want. Overall this is a great store... so can I almost forgot if you have a Stop and Shop Card which anyone can get you will get points toward your gas but you have to watch it because they do expire! I AM SO DONE!!! I have been shopping at the store since they built it. It was always expensive, but it was always my go to store. I understand prices need to go up because the bottom line is important and everyone needs to make a profit. Normally, I don’t leave reviews like this, but first, it was the bakery, then it was the meat department, and the produce department for the past four months has been completely unacceptable.

1. PRODUCE- I got this garlic and these peppers two days ago. The peppers are already wrinkling with holes in them. And the garlic, which is supposed to have a creamy center unless it’s been sitting on the shelf somewhere for months, had green centers sprouting. The cilantro I got was all stems. Over the summer I got three different watermelon that we’re all Mile and the last one has some sort of disease see the photo Celery that was like limp noodles after taking them out of the bag. And EVERY ONE OF MY AVOCADOS were rotten! Some of the items I have shopped for, but the majority have come through their shoppers-I don’t know if they are instructing their employees to pick substandard items because they’re being delivered but that’s the only conclusion I can come to

The best is that I spent $20 on a European fruit tart on a Sunday and on Monday all the fruit was moldy. I cannot tell you the amount of money that I have wasted shopping here. I let things go, but it’s just one thing on top of another on top of another. I’m not thrilled with Walmart or ShopRite produce, I may just start going to Aldi. That’s a superior...
