While driving down to Macon to visit a friend he suggested I try calling this shop to see if they had a Traxxas part that was on back order and out of stock everywhere in Atlanta. After leaving home I looked them up on Google maps to get the phone number and address. Gave them a call, they did have the part I needed, said they would hold it for me but didn’t ask my name, and seemed very rushed to get off the phone. After calling I scrolled down and looked at a few reviews, one of the top reviews was the one with a kid trying to use his Dad’s military ID for a discount which essentially just let me know they offer a military discount.
I arrived about an hour later, looked around for a little while, it was a weekday afternoon and there was only 1 other customer in the shop. The only person that acknowledged me when I came in was the girl working the register. After looking at some items on display I went to the counter and asked for the part I called about and then asked if they had several other parts I wanted to pick up as spares. The guy behind the counter handed me things and made no attempt at conversation, just went back to a car he was working on. I took my handful of parts to the girl at the register, about $20 worth and asked about their military discount, she said they did have one and I showed her my Georgia Veteran Drivers License. She looked at it as if she had never seen one before then picked up a piece of paper with copies of several ID badges on them and asked if I had any of those. I have been out of the Army for 24 years and since acquiring a Veteran Drivers License I no longer have a need to carry any other form of documentation of my military service. I was told they only take the forms of ID on the paper and not the state issued ID that I had. The $2 I would have saved was not worth any further discussion so I just paid and left. Based on the IDs she showed me and reviews from others it seems the discount is only valid for active duty personnel. It was great they had the part in stock but a little odd that the only person in the shop that attempted to engage conversation was...
Read morePurchased yesterday a four pack of venom 1cell Lipo batteries. One battery was puffed out and would not charge. Battery was DOA. Today went back and asked for a replacement. DENIED. A $4.00 battery was too much to ask for. Their standing policy is YOU have to call Venom and talk to them and ask for a replacement. GOOD customer service would have been to replace the battery and then Robins Racing could get things fixed. Robins Racing is quick to sell you anything you want, BUT, DON'T ask for Good customer service when things go WRONG.The only reason I give them ONE STAR is because the Lady who sold use the $149.99 RTF kit was kind and answered all our questions. WISH I has known about the replacement policy before we Purchased the kit. Lesson learned ORDER everything online. Thank You...
Read moreSo I have never been here before but could you answer my question? My uncle bought out a guy that spent a ton of money on some of the rc cars. I just need some help like getting started and possibly recommending what I need. Most of the stuff is older. I worked on the electric traxxas stampede today for about four hours, because nothing was on there, and the wires were messed up, could someone just check my stuff to see if it is ok if I bring it down there? It will probably be a while before I could go because I live over an hour and a half away but would you look to see if what I have is ok, making sure that they look right, and also seeing if they work...
