I came to meet my husband for lunch today. I was rudely greeted if I can even say that. I was the first customer right at opening. The woman that came out seemed bothered. I couldnât make out what she was saying as she seemed like she was rushing to speak with as she kept walking around as well as doing things with the dishes. I said âexcuse meâ several times so that I can hear her better and eventually she just stopped talking. I then just shared that there would be 2 adults. She repeated me and I said âyes mamâ. She then continued to do stuff with the dishes. I stood there for a good 2 minutes holding my 1 year old looking around and looking at the menu at the front. She then said âdine in onlyâ I told her âthat is fine we are wanting thatâ. She walked over to a table and I followed. She asked for our drinks and I told her. She walked off. She came back and put our drinks down. Mind you Iâm still holding my 1 year old. She walked off. I asked her âmam do you have a high chair?â She then points at the back of the dining room without even making eye contact with me or verbally communicating. I myself walked back and had to grab the chair, clean the disgusting thing off with napkins. Not once the entire dining experience did our plates getting taken, or did we get refills. Mind you every person that came in after me received a greeting, including my husband. I will add that I was the only black person at the establishment at that time, my husband is not black either. I do believe that I was receiving a bit of a different treatment. I will say there was a younger woman who was collecting payment and she was extremely pleasant and complete opposite. The food is amazing but is unfortunate that I did not feel welcomed and for that we will...
Read moreWeâve been coming here for 5+ years, and the employees have ALWAYS been amazing, esp to our sassy wild toddler. Theyâve known her since she was literally born, and our son since he was a toddler himself. Food has always been amazing, and itâs always clean. However, today was an ENTIRE different scenario. We ordered our 2 pork Mei Fun online to pick it up. (We do this once to twice a month) The cashier, Iâve never met her a day in my life. One person handed her my online âreceiptâ for $20.26, and the cashier hands me my credit slip to sign for $202.26âŠ. She insisted at first that $202 was correct, but the lady next to her luckily was standing there to correct her. The ABSURD immediate verbal AND physical attitude when I told her it was wrong and that I did indeed want her to void the transaction and be the charged the correct amount was so wild. I mean the neck, and eye rolling. She even stood there to wait and see if I was just going to leave. Then said âOKAY???âŠâ I immediately said â Iâm so sorry, but Iâm so confused right now.â. She then proceeded to ask me if I still wanted the void⊠yes? I donât want free food, I just want to pay the $20 AND NOT $202. Iâd suggest booting her from the cashier spot. Ideally where she cant interact with customers? I was okay with the transaction being voided and corrected, ACCIDENTS HAPPEN. Iâm not okay with the blatant attitude and rudeness that was not at all returned from me at any point of our interaction and was extremely uncomfortable that she was waiting it out to see if I wanted the void. Youâre on Russell, sheâll catch the wrong person one day and recorded situations of employees like that are what cause restaurants and stores to...
Read moreNot so happy China. Didn't have much time for lunch so I came here instead of going to my favorite Chinese place now on Lake Joy since Top Wok closed. I ordered online and went to pick it up. As soon as I walked in, it smelled off in the building. Rather sour. You'd think with the many buffet tables that you'd smell nothing but food, but not the case. As I waited, I thought I'd get used to the smell but it never did go away.
At the register, the counter was a mess and behind it was chaos, with paper and takeout boxes everywhere.
I got the Singapore noodles and curry chicken with fried rice, and spring rolls.
The rolls were super thick with mushy filling. The noodles had a strange green tinge to them, and were relatively tasteless. The curry chicken was OK. The fried rice was yellow and salty but the chicken was the same as the chicken in my noodles. Neither was spicy like it should have been.
I don't like writing negative reviews but I couldn't let this one pass.
For two days after eating here, my gut was torn up as hell. Anyone that knows me calls me a goat because I can eat just about anything, even leftovers after a week.
I won't ever take a chance on this place again. It's not worth it. Obviously something wrong with...
