Ghetto, Ghetto, Ghetto!!!!! This is not a professional hair salon. No customer service manners or etiquette. Do not bother coming here. Odalis the owner and her staff are as ghetto as they can get. They have a conflicting and argumentative personality with their customers. I usually take the time to check reviews first but sometimes I do not have the time and jump blindly into the experience.
On my only 3 visits trying this place: I requested a specific haircut and explain myself clearly. Odalis the âstar hairdresserâ an owner was not able to achieve not even a satisfactory result and did not provide me with what I requested.
I believe she has:
1- Lack of experience as a hairdresser in every aspect. 2- Lack of style and techniques at the moment of haircutting. 3- No sense of style. 4- Lack of experience drying and taking care your hair and scalp properly ( I was burned twice because they use the dryer too hot). She is to amateur. 5- She/They do not pursue for the customer satisfaction and happiness by doing what the customer is requesting her to do. 6- She has an anger management issue. She is angry and takes things too personally when you are just talking to her calmly and giving her constructive feedback. Also, her hairdressers argue between them in front of all customers and they also have the habit of lashing back with criticizing to the customer when you want to give them a suggestion or any simple direction.
At one point, I asked her nicely to use a professional hairbrush that I carry with me, I use the excuse that it will give me a nicer finishing texture but honestly is because her hairbrushes are in bad shape, burn and also they do not look well sanitize. She/They never take the chance to empathize with me and try, she/they only engage themselves in arguing and lashing back to me in front of all her customers.
Also, they are not organized they have a time management issue. Prepare yourself for your wash/dry service request a minimum of 3 hours from the moment that you arrive to the moment that they will start drying your hair. Honestly,...
Read moreI liked my hair the first two pictures are after I unwrapped my hair from the day I got it done the second two pictures are pretty much the next day after I wrapped it myself and brushed it out I did like the hairstyle but I didnât like what it took for me to get it they do not know how to do BLACK NATURAL AFRICAN AMERICAN peoples hair they pull and they comb through the knots instead of combing from the ends and up to the roots they pulled a lot of my hair out I just got my braids taken out I did not wash my hair which I REGRET I should have washed it myself and then let them re-wash it because they do not comb through your hair properly they just rip through it and it caused my head a lot of pain I probably wonât come back here to get my hair done unless I make sure I comb it out and wash it first Now letâs talk about the wait time and they charge me $100 I waited four hours it took me four maybe five hours I had an appointment at about 130 that day I did not leave their shop till almost 6 PM they had one person washing hair and they had one person flat ironing and had I known that I would have never made that appointment I feel like that was the most unprofessional part and I had to wait for three other girls in front of me to get their hair flat ironed blown out whatever you wanna call it then I noticed the three girls hair that she did she wrapped it for them but when she did my hair she left it out she had it styled and when I asked her to wrap it she kind of questioned why and said that it looks pretty but I was going somewhere that night so I wanted it wrapped but I was confused as to why I didnât get that option

Read moreI've been going to Odalis for 15yrs now. LADIES PLEASE UNDERSTAND THEY ARE A DOMINICAN HAIR SALON!!! SO IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE TIME TO BE IN THERE 3+ HRS, OR YOU WANT A FANCY HAIRSTYLE, OR CAN'T STAND HIGH HEAT THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU PERIOD!!! Unless you are the first person in line when they open but you still won't get a fancy hair style. My hair has always come out straight, bouncy, flowy and any other good adverbs you can come up with. My hair also holds up in humidity for a long time after I leave the shop...I'm talking a week plus and I only go to see Odalis every 12 weeks for length check and a small trim. They specialize in basic wash and sets with a blowout. They also will take as many customers as possible and with only 3 actual hairstylists you will wait a while to get into a chair for your hair to be blown out. Also I have never been treated with disrespect when I've brought in my own combs, brushes, medicated shampoo ect... They have always used whatever I bring and they do not talk bad about me. I am black with natural hair and they love my natural hair. I go to Odalis specifically because she's been doing my hair personally for 15 years. She has even told me that her hair is like mine but she gets a keratin treatment to keep it straight so I know she will never talk about black people hair. Being from NYC and growing up around Dominicans some of their hair is like black people hair. The reason for the 4 stars is because there are days when you're in there for hours on end after the 4hr mark I do get irritated but overall the salon is clean and the staff may have attitudes but realize they've been on their feet dealing with many customers for 10+ hours but they are very nice and do try to understand and accommodate everyone even with the...
