Firstly I arrived from the airport at exactly 2:47 and the front desk person said check in was not until 3 and there was a line of guests waiting in the lobby until three for him to start checking them in- NOT CUTE! I am currently staying at this hotel while on a visit for work for 5 days and was waiting until check-out to write a review, but I feel like by day three I can solidly give it a one star rating! I stayed in two different rooms and they were both tiny- the second one less so- I am from NYC if that confirms it. The showers are what I would imagine standing in a coffin would feel like- I could barely lift my arms to wash my hair and the temperature of water in both rooms was burn you skin off hot or cold no in-between. I spent quite a while fiddling with the dial and it seems like they were not installed correctly or are just terrible because you can here when it switches from hot to cold- no combination. I stayed one night in a room with A/C that sounded like a lawnmower and was set at 61, however I am confident the temperature reached the 80's overnight. I didn't have time to deal with it in the morning so I very politely asked the lady at the front desk if I could move rooms b/c the a/c was broken. She was nice at that point and did some adjustment in the computer and said to get my things and she would meet me at my room with the new key. When she came to my room she barged in and took a look at the unit. It was blowing cold air just not enough to cool the room and at lawn mower capacity. She then was very snarky with me and told the a/c was fine and scoffed at me- then she said "oh well its fine" in a very condescending way! Today when I arrived from work the whole place smell like pot which I believe to be coming from the employee lounge. I don't have a problem with people smoking pot, but there is a very beautiful courtyard with tables and chairs out front- the shouldn't be allowed to do it inside. The rooms are very run down- nothing like the pics online so I am kind of shocked at the raving reviews this place has got! Also there were shady characters lingering in the common areas every time I passed through the lobby so not sure what that was about! I would avoid this place at all costs. You can pay a few more dollars and stay at a well run establishment. This place is a glorified hostel. It is in a great neighborhood close to restaurants...
Read moreI WOULD ADVISE AGAINST STAYING HERE. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a door code panel that I wasn't sure what to do with. I had received a text earlier asking me to complete my registration, but I've never been required to do that at any hotel I've ever stayed in the last 11 years at my current job. I frequently travel for work, and my company books my hotels. I clicked on the link provided, but it wouldn't allow me to finish my registration. It wanted me to upload my photo ID, but it wouldn't let me do it. There was a phone number on the door, so I called it and spoke to a person. They told me to text them a picture of my ID and a current photo of me. I ABSOLUTELY was NOT happy about this. So sketchy, in my opinion. However, this person sent me a door code to enter not only the building, but my room. NO ONE works in this establishment. Everything is electronic. The only live greeting I received was from a mouse on the steps. There is no ramp to the front door, only steps, so I'm not sure it's even ADA compliant. I had to drag my 50 lb bag, plus my 20 lb backpack up stairs. Once I got to my room, it was moist. The AC was on high (window unit) and right next to the bed, which was right next to me while I slept. I had to SQUEEZE onto the toilet because it was so close to the pedestal sink. The toilet paper roll was hanging on by a thread. The room was outdated, musty, and there was an extreme lack of space to put things on from my luggage. I didn't even attempt a shower. I just needed sleep. During the night, an alarm woke me up, and, of course, no one works there, so no one turned it off. Eventually I fell asleep over the alarm with the sun coming up. Then at 8:15, the establishment texted me, waking me up, stating we hope you enjoyed your stay with us. Then at 9:05, the staff began vacuuming the hallways, and then at 10:15, the cleaning staff knocked on my door, even though I had the privacy sign on my door...... need I go on? I was booked for 2 nights. I left after 1. They said they would refund my 2nd night there due to my experience, but they didn't. I went to a Sheraton for about the same cost, and...

(look at the responses from the owner just a few reviews below me. He doesn't even give you a genuine response to your complaints. He just puts in your complaint to ChatGPT for a response and copies and paste his response. The owner does not care).
n no particular order: Smell of mold and musk Broken light shades AC that smelled when you turned it on Peeling paint on the ceiling and walls TV was crooked (very crooked) on the wall mount broken lamp Unplugged light at bed stand Dirty shower head (very dirty) Rust in shower Incredibly small "queen" bed (it was not a queen) Nobody on site for support (Nick, the manager, was working remote) Lights outside the front door were off and saw two other people trip down the first step exiting out as you couldn't see the first step down, I also tripped and sprained my ankle on the same step. Walls were so thin you could hear my GF on a simple phone call from the hallway
When I finally got a hold of someone in Chicago I was told it was sold out and offered half the price discount....No.... I want the queen superior room I booked and paid for. If I wanted a hotel at that price point I would have just done that and gotten the same quality hotel.
From other reviews it looks like they have bed bugs too. So glad we didn't even sit down in this room when we walked it. IT...
