Mart Liquor — Local services in Washington

First off, allow me to say that I've never had any personal issues with the staff. Because they know better when they sense how educated one is. However, as I observed how they communicate with other customers, it's quite clear that their sole intent is exploitation. Especially, considering how they have a huge glass window to hide behind. (And don't give me that robbery excuse, just treat the people with respect) The reason for my observation is this: They're located in Southeast and the best name they could come up with is "Mart Liquor"??? Clearly, an intent to exploit how they truly view Black people. Just because you're an Asian owned store (meaning you probably live in some suburb in Maryland or Northern Virginia), does not mean you have to look down on the people of that neighborhood. Yes, SE is a dangerous area, but that doesn't mean you need to exploit them either. In Northwest DC, I've experienced a more professional staff that does not try to use the language barrier as an excuse for their racism. Anyway, what was amusing to me was how one time I asked them for a bourbon they did not have, then when they got it, it was priced at almost THREE times the retail value. Finally, when I tried calling in advance to check on something, I could not get through. Then when I asked them what was wrong with their phone, the Asian lady shrugged it off and said it doesn't work and smiled. That response was so pathetic even I laughed in disbelief. Anyway, selection-wise they're ok, just overpriced. If you owners are reading this, consider a name change, maybe even switch the words around and it won't look so stereotypical.
