Yep-a-doodle-doo! I received a massage here at the massage place. It was pretty nice mainly back related (Talladega oriented incident, I was a wild one back in the day!). But basically I got some knots and kinks worked out here. It was pretty nice and it felt good with some expected pain here and there. They were even okay with me bringing my 'watcher' here. In case you are wondering what I mean by that, basically I don't always feel comfortable in new spots and places, so I bring someone with me. Jerome usually accompanies me, he is 65 years old and is hairy as can be! His cane is a little bit daunting and is stature makes every doorframe tremble, but I enjoy having his eyes on me at all times. When he is unavailable my back up is Rosie, but she only comes around every now and then
Overall the massage I got here was pretty good. I felt incredibly relaxed especially with Jerome there, and I felt like I could do a backflip after the session. I think I will come back to get some pain out of my back next!
The Talladega story is an interesting one. It was the Spring of '92, and love was in bloom. There was a fine bird I was head over heels for, and I was going to do anything to grab her attention. I had heard a story about a Chinese bloke who wanted to go to the Moon so he strapped a king's ransom of fireworks to a chair and set em off. I figured, why not replicate this in a little less of an ambitious way! She'll see me fly over the speedway on the 100th lap, and there's no way she won't take me! Well we began, me Bubba and Clyme, we must've rigged up 40 or so off them black cat suckers to the bottom of some burnt out la-z-boy we had in our mess of a camper. Everyone would benefit from knowing that I was around 18-20 beers deep and a few hits of nitrous too at this point in the day. Well I sat my swooning fanny down in that chair and lit the fuse. There's about three seconds of silence and then the loudest pop you'd done ever heard. I don't remember nothin but the cool air against my face as I sailed into the back of the El Camino nursing the next tailgate up. I woke up a few days later with more broken bones than I knew I had! And the worst part? The lass never even saw it! I haven't seen her since that day, and I never married after. It's been a rough old life, but Jerome, Rosie, my old pals, and this massage...
Read moreI debated posting this review but decided to share my experience in hopes it might help others. I woke up today bruised and in pain, which prompted me to write this.
Iâve been a loyal customer of Mustard Seed for months, and itâs been my go-to place. I typically book based on availability rather than requesting a specific masseuse.
Yesterday, I booked a deep tissue massage. The session started fine, but a few minutes in, I asked for âa little less pressure.â The masseuse continued with the same intensity. After 30 minutes of discomfort, during which I was visibly flinching, I turned over for the final 15 minutes. She then applied intense pressure to my knee, and I again requested less pressure. At that point, she stopped, said, âIâll get another masseuse,â and left the room.
In over 20 years of getting massages, Iâve never experienced this. Communication is key in this process, and I wasnât at a place known for intense Asian-style deep pressure massagesâI wanted relaxation.
The manager called and only charged me the $57 deposit, but the conversation felt more like a defense of the masseuseâs âstyleâ and her attempt to find a better fit. While I understand the client isnât always right, adjusting pressure is a basic part of customer service. I shouldnât be left bruised and in pain.
As a result, Iâm taking my business elsewhere. Iâve chosen not to name the masseuse, as I believe this reflects on the...
Read moreThe fact that as an owner you gaslight the situation and demanded that I provide a doctor note is troubling on all business levels. Then to further justify his discriminatory acts by not respecting my privacy and asking me in private is first where he he went wrong. I donât have a limp and as a business to repeat that without any facts is a problem. I have met with Xavier twice and he never asked any questions, he provided a service based on my trouble areas which had nothing to do with my face. Timothy misjudged me based on my looks and nothing else as if I donât have the right to seek services from this establishment and as if you are all entitled to ask. This is extremely disheartening and it forces me to engage my legal team as Iâm afraid your Massage therapist they have too much autonomy in deciding whom to serve or not. I could have been a veteran for all you cared with the same injuries but because I didnât disclose my injuries you denied me services after already servicing me in the past. This is a classic case of judging someone based on the cover. People utilizes Mustard Seed to address real stressors in their life not be discriminated against because I donât meet their standard of beauty. This is egregious for you to response as defensively as you Did. I will continue to pursue legally as this is evidence of your management style and why business likes your donât belong in DC. A melting pot...
