Total waste of TWENTY HUMAN DOLLARS! I’ve lived in this neighborhood for almost a year and this restaurant is nothing if not consistent! The BEST margarita...with the HANDS. DOWN. WORST. CUSTOMER SERVICE!! At first I thought the woman just didn’t like me BUT after reading the reviews I realize she’s just a trash person. I have a severe gluten allergy and even though, on my previous visit - with a much nicer server on the patio (Nina) was able to make a reasonable substitution THIS TIME...with this woman, not only does she condescendingly talk down to me but gets my order wrong, and argues with me about it! Lenny, another employee convinced me to wait for them to fix my order and when I got it the fries were both undercooked and overly greasy! I’m going to call the manager tomorrow morning BUT this is literally the last time I will ever go back. I develop and deliver training on customer service. This woman is terrible...and has no business servicing people. UPDATE: I’m still never going back to this place but I’d HIGHLY recommend Santa Rosa!! I’ll be writing a follow up review on them but their queso sauce is AMAZING. Their happy hour is very impressive and their customer service is very friend and personable. Go to Santa Rosa instead of this trash basket. You’ll thank me, your wallet and your stomach later.

I was in DC visiting family and was looking for a place to eat in the neighborhood of H street. Stumble on this place because of the outside seating in the time of Covid. Was seating promptly and with the menu in hand I quickly decided my choice of culinary delight. I ordered the following: Chips & Salsa $5.99 Beef- Carne Garnacha. $3.50 Frozen Mango Margarita $16 (20oz) A Garnacha is a Mexican dish originating from Oaxaca, in an area known as the Isthmus. The dish consists of a small masa dough disk that is fried in lard, then topped with stewed shredded meat, onions, salsa, queso fresco, and repollo – a combination of vinegar and cabbage. The menu described it as follows: Pan Semi-fried Corn Tortilla with Salsa. Shred Beef, Cabbage, Onions and Cheese on top. Chips & Salsa - excellent (salsa and cilantro in it) Beef- Carne Garnacha. $3.50 - yummy Frozen Mango Margarita $16 (20oz) - Very, very disappointing. Couldn’t taste any tequila at all and never at any point did I feel any tequila. In my mind I was plainly ripped off. The service was meh. I want to point out that they were short handed at the time. One fella left because of this. Even though the food was good at a reasonable cost, the over price Frozen Mango Margarita for $16 with no tequila ruined the whole experience. I won’t be going back.

This is probably my 1st bad review. I visited the Taqueria June of 2021 after driving by and seeing the location packed for the last month. My 1st trip I put my name on a wait list. The reception person said they would call us in 30 minutes. They never called. We walked back and they somehow lost our information. The 2nd time we walked in and sat down. The location was not particularly crowded. After receiving our drinks right away. It took 30 minutes to order food. We had to stop our waitress as she serviced the other tables in her area. After ordering our food. We noticed that 4 tables, that arrived after us, had received their food and left before our food came out. Again we had to stop our waitress. She said the kitchen lost our order. It took 1.5 hours for us to receive our meal. Review: Depending on the meal, the portions were hit or miss. Our food came out cold. My chicken was seasoned well. The drinks were good, the atmosphere was very enjoyable, limited street parking, we didn't ask for any complimentary items, but they gave us a small picture of margarita, after we finished our food. Don't get the chips and salsa and guacamole. The chips are not fresh and they give you chips for four people and a child portion of salsa and guacamole.

I did not enjoy my experience here at all. I came in with a friend because we were starving but also wanted to have a celebratory drink after a long day. Going to a nearby Mexican restaurant sounded like a great idea.

However once we arrived, there is construction going on in the front area of the restaurant, where you can literally smell the exposed tiles. Luckily they had a spare room in the back for customers which is where we sat. The restaurant has a new policy where they take patron's ID's when they walk in since two tables walked out on their tables without paying a few days prior. We thought that was weird but just went with it.

When we ordered our first drink, the margarita tasted like lemonade so we asked could it be made over with an actual lime and tequila taste, and our waiter, Marvin, said they batch all their drinks and there is no possibility for a bartender to make a drink for us that has not already been batched.

Eventually the manager came over asking us what our issue was, just to say again that nobody is actually making drinks on site, although they apparently have a full service bar. She told us what was in the margarita and it included a bunch of additives other than just lime juice, triple sec, orange juice, and tequila. She kept claiming we wanted a skinny margarita when that could be the furthest from the truth...we just wanted a margarita that actually tasted like one. They then claimed that they are more of a "restaurant" than a "bar" as an excuse as to why no one makes drinks onsite. It was just all rather bizarre because I never seen a Mexican restaurant/bar that doesn't have the capability to make a classic Margarita.

The added interaction with the manager and the lack of kindness presented in a simple question, deteriorated the experience in this restaurant. The fact that we were told over and over again there's nothing that could be done, without offering any alternatives felt like we were being cheated as customers. Let alone, the food isn't really that good. I had a fish taco and my friend had steak, and no sides like beans and rice comes with it, we just had sliced cucumbers added for us. If I could do it over again, I would have never bothered coming here in the first place. It's a complete waste of time and...

I was unhappy with my drink at Taqueria and Rostisceria Fresca and asked the waitress to take it and I ordered another. The waitress said that she would take (her words) the drink off the bill. During our meal, we saw a small rat run from one the corner of the restaurant, past our feet, and decided it was time to go. When we received our bill, the $16 margarita wasn’t removed. Another waitress came out and said “because we work so hard serving and putting a lot of time in preparing the drink, we have to charge %50 of the drink”. We asked for the manager (which, I am assuming is you) and she said the manager wasn’t available and we would have to email her our concern, even though our server told us that she would take it off the bill. When the waitress asked our server did she say that, her response was “I said I would take it off the table”. So now, she told a lie. I said, I won’t pay for anything I didn’t consume, especially if you said you would take it off the bill. The second server said that she would call the police, not the manager.

We constantly asked for a manager, and there was no available manager. There have also been previous claims on Yelp of this restaurant lying about who the manager is.

This restaurant is disgusting in how they take care of their customers as well as the cleanliness, which was why we decided it was time to go. However, we were treated like WE were the criminals here. I find it hard to believe this is how you all conduct business. We are trying to keep businesses like YOU afloat! this is OUR city and this is how you...
