I’m rating this as a parent and seeing/ listening in the background. My son has been here for almost 3 yrs and this is my observation. The professors in this school are great makes the subject entertaining even the boring ones, but the advisors here the ones that my son had are the worst and he had two his first one never helped him set up his first yr and when I called to see if he can have a new advisor they said no and he just has to wait even when I complained. His second advisor also never answer emails and we can never sign up for classes bc he never unlocks his account, until last minute and all the classes are full. Oh and doesn’t show up on time for meeting that they themselves set up for the student but when the student is late they turn them away. Advises the student to switch school bc they messed up and made my son take the same class and waste a year. When he asked for help they just sent him off to the career counselor that don’t listen and even after 3 phone meetings talking about the same thing he told her what he wants and he doesn’t have classes registered and she just says well next meeting I have a 2 o’clock.. when you call the school to complain they don’t help they just say well you have to write an email to them and wait. Also the school doesn’t deal with parents they can only talk to ur child even if he’s next to me. And if that’s not true, someone needs to talk to the student...
Read moreWorst administration I have ever had to deal with. Not only do they never respond to email or phone calls, they can't even keep track of ELECTRONIC applications, that required my daughter to submit 3 times and be forced enrolled late into classes due to their incompetence. But they also can't even have the literacy to read the applications correctly to charge the correct rate to students.
They went ahead to charge not only my daughter but several other students out-of-state resident rates when all their applications illustrated DC residents. Like how can you not even read what's on the applications! How many other students were charged nearly 3 times when they should have been charged as a DC residents scares me on the level of corruption and neglect this body demonstrates to it's it's attendees.0
Then to not even have the decency and competence to even respond to emails and calls to try to correct this is just completely absurd, no wonder UDC is a laughing stock of a school to attend they can't even serve as a place to get extra credits for actual schools. How neglectful can you be to students and applicants,...
Read moreBeen attending this school for almost a year now, and all my professors have actually been pretty cool except for Cherie Ward who taught Oral Communication, basically Public Speaking, do NOT take her class!! She is the only one who literally cannot teach, plays favorites, and lies about work you submit, and does not seem to know how to use Blackboard, maybe because of her age, not sure, but everyone else is cool. However, If you see Professor Christian Aguiar ( Foundation Writing/English I), Professor Tiffany Banks ( Foundation Writing II/English II), or Professor Denize Shy (Social Science/Sociology), they are EXCELLENT insructors and even were super supportive of Spanish speaking population, I thought that was so awesome of some of the faculty to make space for non Native English speakers. The school is affordable, and flexible for someone working full time during the day. However, Administration is a mess and will require patience...
