I am a mother of four, and I was told that instead of throwing away my children's outgrown clothes, they should pay you for their gently used clothing. I did a thorough cleaning with just my first two children, sorting through the gently used clothes, and ended up with one large bag. My experience was similar to Taria's. The staff at this location wasn’t helpful and give me little to no information on how the operation worked. Beside the lady I spoke to when I first arrived, I went in without my bag when I first came to obtain information, and the woman with the braids help me She was the only and she informed me what was needed. I said I had a bag, and she suggested for me to bring it in. The clerk said, "I'll text you when your offer's ready." I dropped off my bag at 1:07 PM, and at 1:15 PM, I got a text stating that it was ready. When I got there, 90% of my garments were returned, with a note saying that they weren’t eligible based on their guidelines. I asked to examine the two bins of clothing they did allow, which were mostly Ralph Lauren, J. Crew, Seven Jeans, and other labels, and I questioned the guidelines. The woman claims that although the system quotes the garments, they don't, and the price varies from $1 to $2 depending on the condition. I then go through the bag of clothing that they didn't take and I take out a brand-new pair of jeans along with other items. I asked why this quote wasn't included; she pointed out a tiny stain on the jeans and said that's why. I ask the same question about a dress that had several bleach stains that they did pay me for, and all she could say was that they was human and mistake happen. These women obviously didn't want to look inside my bag; they just paid for what they saw on top and returned my bag to me. She paid $60 for the two clothing bins, and I had an extra pair of shoes and jeans that she gave me $2 for. Since I was going through two more children's clothes, my coworker suggested that we visit the Bristol Breach. Bristol was extremely pleasant and inviting, and they provided all of my children's items, which I double checked to make sure they were only gently used. The employees at Waterbury are a disgrace and will only damage the reputation of this brand. They treat individuals like crack heads, as if I just picked up these clothing off the streets. I will include few clothes they passed on. Pictures just prove they did the bare minimum front and back cause I just couldn’t believe...
Read moreI’ve been a customer for a while and I’ve noticed a concerning decline in both their evaluation process and customer service. When they first opened in the fall of 2024, the staff seemed genuinely welcoming and thorough, taking the time to carefully assess my gently used kids' clothes. But my most recent visit left me disappointed. This time the staff barely went through my items. They only skimmed the top layer and wrapped up my order within 15 minutes, which felt rushed and unprofessional. It seemed like they weren’t putting in the effort to properly evaluate what I had brought in, which was frustrating since I had taken care to prepare the clothes in good condition. What was even more frustrating was the shift in customer service. When I checked in on my order, the staff couldn't even finish processing it before leaving me to wait while they helped someone else. Another employee then had to step in to assist, which felt disorganized and like my time wasn’t being respected. It’s disappointing to see how much the service has changed since they opened. I won’t be returning unless they make significant improvements in both the way they evaluate items and their overall customer experience. I rather go to the...
Read moreStrong attitude that is neither hospitable nor cordial Their demurral wasn't cute, supervisor is getting paid for all the wrong reason. I'm not sure if it was because of the color of my skin or if they detest their jobs. I have no idea why, but Waterbury employs rude people, I'm not shocked by the other evaluations. My experience was exactly the same—disgusting and disappointing—because I have nine grandkids, and the things this firm provides its employees will damaged its reputation. I intend to attend additional...
