Ceramics By You — Local services in Waterford Township

This is such a great place to go for a couple of hours to just chill and be as creative as you want. I have only been there for the ceramics painting, but I want to take the class to learn how to do the glass art.

There is always a huge selection of ceramics based on your time and how creative you want to be. And even if you don't finish, you can leave your piece there and come back another day. I have invited my 3 year old niece and brought my pre-teen daughter and my mother, so there is something for everyone.

The owner is so friendly and loves to chat and help in any way. All you have to do is ask and she can help with ideas and technique. She showed me how to use more than just the paint and a brush to create a different look on my pieces.

My most favorite thing is that she was so patient with me while I finished my lawn ornaments. I had brought in 2 lawn ornaments of my own that had been originally painted by my late grandmother years ago. I was given the tools and suggestions to repaint them, and 3 years later (after I forgot them when Covid shut everything down) I finished them! The owner sprayed them with a protectant spray for outdoors and they look great in my garden now!

I have been going to Ceramics By You for several years. I have tried other places but they do not have that friendly fun atmosphere. The instructor, Susan, is always coming up with new ideas and offers many specialty classes. Great place to go and relax, you do not have to know how to do anything the instructor will gladly take the time to teach you new things like glass fusing,ceramics, and much more. Great place to make all kinds of things. I highly recommend it. Good old fashioned get to know you atmosphere. My son even attends on the kids day and the other adults doing their projects will even step over and help him if he has a question. Now that is something you don't see...

It's a wonderful place to bring your friends+family to do something creative and fun! With my family, we all did ceramics, but you can also learn how to do your own glass creation. The whole place is very cool, it's decorated with tons of other ceramics and glass creations that the owners have done. The owners are lovely people, great to chat with while making your creation. I'd recommend it to anyone...
