Green Apple Cooley Lake — Restaurant in Waterford Township

I went for breakfast with my wife who is Hispanic and I am African American. I have NEVER been made to feel so unwelcomed in all my years at an establishment. The owner took a seat at the counter and was staring at me and my wife the entire time we were there. Others (3 couples) were seated after us and received there food before us. It took a long time to receive our food & when it came up we saw it & the waitress grab the food behind ours & served the couple behind us who sat 10-15 minutes after us first.. Then she eventually grabbed ours & served us.. It was Very obvious we were Not welcomed there. We did not finish our meals because of the atmosphere. Paid our bill, still left a tip for the squeaky voiced horrible waitress and departed. We will never venture to that establishment again and feel sorry for those of color that do! I have never wrote a review. Until now. Btw This restaurant is 2 miles from my house...

I never been here and wanted to get some breakfast. I saw that they let you order online so I did. I went to pick up my food, and the waitress was passive aggressive and with a tone,; she said "you ordered online the biscuits and gravy, w/ the eggs on top. You didn't pay for the eggs so you got it for free!!!!!!". I don't think it's my fault as a consumer, if you don't have a surcharge for it on the online ordering software. She also said they just got me different pancakes instead of the pumpkin one that I ordered, which was more pricier, since it's not season. Again, update the menu on the online ordering. I felt bad and literally tipped more money (than what 2 eggs are worth) just to make up for it. Food is okay. I was also missing the coffee that I ordered. Update - unfortunately I will need to recant my review, while to food here is excellent and we eat/ order here weekly. There is a serious issue with their to go system. Numerous times we have given 15, 20, 25 minutes before we even leave our house and to often to show up to the restaurant and still hve to wait 15 minutes. No matter what time you show up. It’s almost as if they don’t even start “cooking” your to go order until you get there. Today my wife ordered my favorite breakfast for Father’s Day. Showed up at the restaurant and after waiting 15 minutes of servers walking by her without even acknowledging her. They “didn’t have out order” and will start a new one.
