Gordon Food Service Store — Local services in Waterford Township

The product is pretty good, prices are decent, cashier was amazing... manager, not so much. Came in today 9/27 around noon. I like having large rolls of foil and plastic wrap at home, they usually last for a year. Anyway, I picked up the plastic wrap and then picked between 2 aluminum foil on the shelf. I picked the more expensive one ($27 something) because it may be more durable. I get to the register and the cashier was super friendly. I notice the foil rings up at $34+. I tell her that I think the price was wrong, but it could be me. She says that sometimes the price in the system doesn't update immediately and goes to check. At this point I am the only customer in the store. She comes back and the price is what I saw. She tries to do a refund and is waiting for the manager. He finally comes out and she is telling him what happened, he does not even look at me. He asks if someone put it on the wrong shelf, she checked the sku and it is the same. He asks if she took the price down, she says no and he tells her she needs to do it NOW! I was in food/customer service for 30 years and never treated people so rudely. Said nothing to me, made me feel like it was MY fault, then the cashier like it was her fault. I took the $7 refund (didn't even ask for the tax back) said have a nice day and left. I could have been rude and told him he owed me another $5 as the state overcharge fee and $.42 in tax, but I didn't care about that. Just treat customers and staff better.

Prices are very high! No longer Gordon's of the past! The new deli sucks! Look at it & notice it's just their products, that they have opened & is crusty on top, just nasty. 1 honest employee said "yeah I wouldn't eat that"! Veggies are most of the time spoiled, at least wilted & gross. I worked there in the 90s & anybody having a party came in & numerous restaurants you eat at, served ya Gordon's food. Not anymore though! Prices are far to high, nothing is fresh unless it was truck night (even then ya need to hurry), most employees don't care & are rude! Sadly you can go to other stores & beat their prices now, plus not have the rude employees. However as every1 knows these day, it may be getting groceries, ordering something, getting fast food & much more, which ever it is most teens & ppl in their 20s, treat ya bad, put out a bad product & much more! Gordon's we used a bunch for daily food, parties, graduations, weddings & more! Not anymore & many ppl are saying the same thing! Shame Gordon's, you used to be a top store,...

I've been shopping at the Waterford location since the early 90's both as a caterer and as a bakery owner. Over 20 years history shopping at this location and haven't had any problems until 2015/2016. The management doesn't understand the needs of small business owners. They sell case goods you have ordered right out from under you, without a courtesy call. I've risked a speeding ticket to get there before they close at 8pm, just to be told you can't enter the store at 7:50 pm. I'm moving my business to the Farmington Hills location, because the Waterford managers are more interested in their computerized reports and time clocks than their customers.

I lost money paying an employee overtime to chase down the goods I pre-ordered at the Waterford store, just so we could fill customers' orders this week. Not smart...
