So as a quick backstory I doĀ Real estate investments and find property that I fix up and rent out. Been doing so for 3 generations.Ā So my family or I would frequent Martin's quite a bit to find flooring in things like that odd ends of carpet or tile that can work in some of the units.
Recently I have been into Mardens with a friend who lost all his clothing needed new clothes him and I spent over $800 there. I bought a $200 carpet. I spent nearly $1000 on flooring and items for renovating.
I also found a really nice genuine leather Marc Anthony bag that was over $100 marked down from $300 to carry my Mac Book for school.
on the 14th of April I spent about $600 on clothing at Mardens and left.
Well I came back in because the carpet wasn't the exact right size in I came in to return it, I shopped around a little bit while they process the return.
While waiting I found a little zip-up case that was perfect for a diabetes kit to hold my glucometer Lance in syringes for my dog who is type 2 diabetic.Ā I tried to purchase the little kit but had no price tag on it.
Management took it for a price check That was seemingly taking a very long time so I went to the service desk to ask about it to someone from security came and said they were looking at the video to try to see where the price tag was ripped off. I could sense that they insinuated that I unwrapped the price tag off which was absolutely foolish because I couldn't purchase it without a price tag.
I waited the entire time over 30 minutes they finally brought it back to me with $8 pricetag. So I paid for the item and as I left the store I got surrounded by multiple police officers. There is to women that work clearly for Mardens security that were standing there pointing fingers in accusing me of stealing.Ā I gladly showed all my ID and open my bag and went through everything...Ā Not only had I not stolen anything ever from Mardens,Ā Ā But I have the police check my folders, one which contained many receipts...Ā Receipts showing I spent thousands of dollars at Mardens...Ā The 2 ghastly woman working security for Mardens had told the police that I was stuffing merchandise into my bag which was NOT true at all..my bag was zipped and closed the entire time I was there.Ā Then after finding NOTHING stolen, the 2 women even try to get me in trouble for my dogs diabetic insulin syringes, which I had the police clear as legit over dispatch at the same time.Ā This all happened directly in the exit in front of a lot of people in even know it could be embarrassing I really felt embarrassed for the security at Mardens.Ā Not only did nothing stolen come about but I also had receipts proving that I spend thousands of dollars there...Ā Instead of an apology or admitting their grossly wrong accusations they actually continued to trespass me on paper so that I am not allowed to go back there...
So to recap, was illegally detained, wrongfully accused of theft, didn't steal anything or do anything to deserve this reaction.Ā Don't worry Mardens I do not need to be trespassed I will never spend a penny there ever again and neither will my family.
Shame on you Mardens people for wasting the time of a good person who was a high paying customer.Ā Absolutely disgraceful the people that work security at Mardens.Ā Such a gross experience in frankly your lucky I am not suing. š¤®š¤®š¤®š¤® gross human beings that have an inch of power and take a mile and...

Today, I purchased 3 fabulous & super comfy summer dresses (a steal at $9.99 each), a Liz Claiborne summer purse, a generously sized beach towel ($4.99), and a few other clothing items. Score!
Seems the only place I'm able to find quality and age appropriate clothing is at Marden's and their prices are unbeatable.
So, the purse I found was a one-off and was missing a price tag. It was also a little scuffed with black marks which I wasn't sure if I'd be able to remove. The service desk attendant was able to find the price which, in it's scuffed condition, was a little more than I cared to spend. A manager was called & after a brief discussion a reasonable price was agreed upon. Although I wasn't able to remove all of the black marks, there are only 2-3 on the front & sides which are small & barely visible; the worst ones are on the bottom- (who cares about that, right?) I'm happy to have finally found a great summer handbag and for less than $20!
I've been a Marden's shopper for over 50 years and have fond memories of the Sunday family trips, at least once a month, from our home in Bangor to the store in Waterville.
I've furnished a 4 BR home with quality furniture from Marden's, clothed my children from birth throughout adulthood, purchased several plants & rose bushes, home improvement items, foods, footwear, well, it would be easier to list items I haven't bought there: cars, pets. š
If you see it & think you might want it- buy it as goods sell quickly. They have a hassle free return policy in case you change your mind once...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTwo days ago I spent over $300 at Mardens. I was having a perfectly lovely shopping trip until I went to collect my teenage son from looking at the toys after I had paid. The second I approached the doors with my clearly bought things in shopping bags I got the pleasure of being confronted at the door like a thief, apparently Mardens believes it can ask for receipts now. Listen, I show receipts when I sign a contract as a customer at BJās or Samās Club. I willingly signed up for that. This was disturbing that Mardens believes it has the ability to strong arm people as if it were Walmart. Walmart doesnāt even have that ability. They have been sued successfully for doing this. You have the right to ask, but I have the right to say no. I donāt quite understand the concept of the immense security measures The store takes with its cameras that you canāt be competent enough to discern somebody stealing from retrieving their child? What is the point of the cameras if youāre not actually using them Before you rush to judgment and make false accusations. You would think you would want to have accurate information, instead of your āfeelingsā that I may or possibly could have done something therefore you should just assume I did. The customer service at all locations is abysmal, and I have to tell you that this will be my last time shopping at the store. the thousands upon thousands of dollars I have spent over my lifetime of shopping loyally at Mardens isnāt Worth it to me. The sense of āall we care about are our profit losses, and not your shopping experienceā was obvious...
