Watsonville DMV — Local services in Watsonville

I visited this DMV for my wife's behind-the-wheel test. The only reason we drove down from San Jose to Watsonville is because we couldn't get an appointment in any of the DMVs of the Bay Area. The place is smaller than most of the DMVs of the Bay Area. For an 11:10 appointment, we were told that we can check in at 11, since we arrived early. There were only 2 DMV examiners on the test day which caused a long line of test applicants waiting in their cars to take their test. We waited for 25-30 mins for our chance to take the test. On reading some of the other reviews, I feel that's probably quite common. However, the examiner was really supportive and helpful. At the end of the test, he passed my wife and diligently pointed out the errors she made and provided recommendations for improvements. Upon entering the DMV to get her temporary license, we had to wait for another 15-20 minutes because no one was there at counter 9 and eventually the lady from counter 7 helped us.

Had to go there to take behind-the-wheel test. The guy who tested me definitely wanted me to fail. I'm not perfect, but I found his judgement in quite a few situations rather questionable. I must go 40, not 30, up a hill just because I can, without caring that visibility of its top is limited? I cannot slow down when changing lanes to let the car occupying the lane go (btw, no one is tailing me)? I cannot slow down while making a turn to see better behind a parked car? Oh come on. I'm sorry I'm not a young girl. I would not be that frustrated if I could get the next appointment within 1 month and 50 miles from the place where I live, or if our lives didn't depend so desperately on cars here in California. Most of the people there actually make this DMV much more pleasant than most.. just pray you don’t have to deal with two of the ladies there(one being the manager) are truly negligent and self righteous… they have terrible manners and no customer service skills at all.. I will be filing a formal complaint about the manager… she was actually disrespectful as possible! When I said she should have communicated something to me, she replies “it’s not our job to babysit”! The condescending self righteous €¥#t… not only that, when I handed her a packet of info I was told to (that apparently had a single paper needed by them) she looked at it in a Half a$$ed manor and told me it was missing the paper.. when I inspected it I found said paper was in the packet! She’s made me livid to an extent I did...
