I brought my daughter to Deborah long time ago and she did a wonderful job. I told myself once I am ready to braid mine, I will give her my business. All I wanted were cornrows, without added extensions. I was open to adding hair if it was needed, I told her that. I told her she can advice I had a photo of the style I wanted. Not only I made my appointment a week early and confirmed it the day before, I still had to be told I'll have to wait or come back two hrs later. Mind you I specifically arranged this around work. She had two other heads ahead of me to be braided. I found this place to be very unprofessional. She attempted to make calls I guess to get her backup braiders. Again, I was flexible being braided by someone else I didn't know as long as she trusted her work. This lady braided my hair as if she was braiding a 3 year old. She did not part my hair properly. Wasn't using gel to make it neat and part well. She was charging me a ridiculous $150 for that, something that could have been $80...a $100 at the most if you are expensive! You are talking straight back cornrows here, no added hair, no special style. So After about five lines I requested for her to add hair because I thought she might put a little more effort into it and make it look neater. I was told she can't start over she's braided too far and not even half of my head was braided. I then stopped the braiding and asked it to be taken down, I'll go somewhere else. On my way out, Deborah pretended not to have understood me while yelling arguing across the room while she braided someone. Even though I had text messages showing what we discussed. She was blaming me for why it didn't work arguing in a raised voice infront of everyone. The lady who braided my hair was also arguing with me along with Deborah. She yelled out "she doesn't even have hair in the middle!" I guess I'm starting to lose some hair (thanks to my genes, lol), so I've noticed over the years the mid section growth is very slow, so hair is shorter there than the rest of my head. You don't see it with my hair just combed out until you work with it then you notice as you braid. But that has never hindered anyone to be able to braid my hair well. Needless to say I was very embarrassed I couldn't believe she talked that way infront of all those customers in there. I truly wanted to cry I felt so bad. I left that place very disappointed, hurt, angry and sad. I have two daughters plus myself who would have been customers forever, but I would never again give her the opportunity to treat me the way she treated me.
Edited per Deborah's response below. You are a liar, disrespectful and very rude. You do not possess the qualities you want your customers to think you have at all! You are a pathetic business woman. Very unprofessional. You only get customers because you do braid well when you put good intention, but your...
Read moreI got a closure sew in and it looks alright…when I got home, which I live an hour away I looked in the mirror. I saw that there is this peice of hair that is sewed down so it it looks a bit funny… ALTHOUGH a friendly note while handling bundles…. Be gentle don’t just throw them out the way, and get them knotted up and proceed to sew it on. Please… untangle the bundles and then sew it down. People don’t play about their hair. I’m very picky about mine. The piece of hair can be hidden which is why I didn’t see it when I looked in the mirror in Illinois. Make sure you take your time on people and watch what you’re doing don’t sew in something that is clearly tangled. Straighten the bundles out before putting them in. I’m not being rude or anything. Just a friendly note… this isn’t beauty supply store hair, it isn’t synthetic either but after you took them out the pouch you could have been more...
Read moreI was quite surprised when I walked in the ladies are absolutely wonderful they do a great job there little shop is clean they have products in merchandising to sell. I was very happy with the price and the outcome of my hair! Revision: Everything is true in my first review, but after I explained what I needed and quoted a price I made appointment, well after paying $10.00 more than agreed but within less than 24hrs all the braids had let loose and I couldn't do anything about it as I was on a flight to Florida the next day! I thought maybe I could be compensated for the first visit failure and offer to fix it like professional salons do. I was even thinking about having them do something else and I'd pay difference on price. But...
