Waunakee Furniture ETC — Local services in Waunakee

We firmly believe in supporting small businesses, but not if they treat us like dirt. We need furniture to fill a 2000 square foot area in our basement that walks out to the lake. We wanted to buy local, even if we have to pay more. My husband and son went to Waunakee furniture today based on the positive reviews. However, they were not treated well by the saleswoman. She greeted them promptly (hence 2 stars), but she was arrogant and rude. Her first question was "what is your price range." This was their first trip out. They wanted to explore different options and find the most comfortable furniture. Price is not our first concern, we will spend what we need to get what we want. Today they were trying to figure out what they want first. My daughter and I spent 12,000 on our living room sofa that only lasted 2 years (AVOID ELITE LEATHER, they don't stand behind their "lifetime" warranty on the frame which sagged horribly.) So, this time my husband and son wanted to do the shopping as we didn't fare too well. Waunakee furniture clearly didn't want our business. Really unfortunate, we plan to find another local store that is polite and treats all their customers with respect, regardless of...

Selection is great, but disappointed with the service.

This was our first time shopping for furniture in quite a while, and we had a lot of uncertainty about just what we wanted.

The associate that greeted us seemed to grow tired of us quickly, and before long, began assisting other customers. Any questions we asked of her left us with the impression that she had already concluded we were not making a purchase.

We continued to shop on our own and found a couch we liked. I went back to our associate to tell her we wanted to make a purchase, and she became very friendly all of the sudden.

The next day, we went to Ayers furniture and had a wonderful customer service experience. We ordered both a couch and loveseat recliner. I then called Waunakee to cancel our original order.

The cancellation process was quick and painless. I anticipated this was going to be a fight because the associate at the time of purchase told us all sales were final.

They had our down payment back to us...

Shoppers beware!! This place is MUCH larger on the inside than the outside may appear ~ and absolutely gorgeous!! I went in with two of my daughters and we were met by two very friendly saleswomen, who welcomed us and then let us explore...and we were amazed at the variety and quality of the merchandise for sale. The prices were very reasonable, and some were actually surprising ~ I would have expected a store of this quality to be much more expensive, but I can assure you that, if I lived in Waunakee myself (from Michigan) and I needed anything, I would MOST DEFINITELY buy from this store. I told one woman that one of my daughters has small boys and she and her husband will most likely be back in the future...when I told my daughter this, she heartily agreed! They live in Waunakee so even the location itself is most convenient for them... All in all, you would be hard pressed to find anything better than this store for all of your home furnishing...
