Red Barn Company Store — Local services in Waunakee

Will never go back. Stopped in to shop with a friend. We were in for the first time so wandered around to see what was offered. The staff is all over you as people have said… we could not just browse and have our own conversation. I wanted a sweatshirt, so a woman kept it at the counter for me. My friend said not to buy it or give them my money as they were on us like white on rice! It is unfortunate they have to assume everyone wants to steal something. We both had small crossbody purses on and would never think of such a thing. I was looking at two colors and they ran big so i was just holding it up to see and a salesperson was right on top of me.. Not sure where I even could have put it with my tank dress on. It is a sad world we live in but really could not wait to get out of there…would still never go back. Bought/paid for my sweatshirt and done. Go to Baraboo or Sun Prairie and shop. We were treated so nicely and just browsed… and I bought...

The owner here is a very rude and accusatory Lady! I loved this store until my Peers and I visited this store for the Waunakee wine walk this past Friday 11-18-22! She kicked my friend out for being loud when she asked for wine and I had lost my passport along our journey from shop to shop ! She very RUDELY stated that I could not have any wine w/o a passport !even though we had designated cups given only to wine walk peers. We walked away and my friend whom shops there all the time and were discussing how RUDE THE OWNER WAS , And told her to get out leave my store your to loud . We were still browsing and I had a candle in my hand to purchase, and she accused me of stealing it when I was right by the counter to pay for it, she tried to grab it right out of my hands. My husband and I have spent thousands of dollars on pandora bracelets and charms for myself and family , not to mention many $21 dollar...

The store had some wonderful items, however, for some reason the store management feels their employees need to follow a customer around offering suggestions or coming up & saying, "Isn't that item cute?" constantly. My husband and I left because of the constant attention. I saw a nice metal rooster on a shelf that I loved but by that time I didn't even want to ask the price. The management needs to realize people don't want them at their side constantly. For that reason, I won't be going back to their store.I love the types of items they carry and would have purchased a couple items. It's okay to make suggestions a couple times or comment on something a shopper is looking at but they did it too much. Management, you need to give your shoppers some space.
