I have known Mark Zitzer for more than 30 years. I bought skate stuff from his mom. Now that my 12 year old son is skating, I gladly drive across town to have him check stuff out. while I am sure mark would rather I don’t say this, I’m cheap. He knows this about me and always finds me that deal that other skate shops wouldn’t. Anyone reading this is cooler than me and would surely look to not be cheap.

During this quarantine time I decided to work on the goal of my 15 year old self decades later and have my son try out skateboarding too! Phase II was so awesome and helpful! We talked on the phone and they did not make me feel stupid for the 0% knowledge I knew about skateboards. They walked me through the options and took the time to explain what would be the best fit for my son and I. After they texted me a couple of pictures and options, we were able to schedule a curbside pick up. Great experience! Since learning to skateboard back in 01, I have been coming to phase 2. I may not skateboard much anymore but my love for that shop hasn’t changed. I still get excited to go and check out all the new gear from companies I know and love, to companies that are brand new to me (and catch some footage of a video playing). There’s no reason for me to go to the mall and get new shoes, that doesn’t help the original roots of skateboarding. As long as phase 2 is around, I will be coming back whenever possible.
