Loving this new addition to Tosa Village which is JUST in time for summer! Mochi Ring is an adorable spot. The mochi ring donuts have a wonderful texture and chew. Light and fluffy with a nice little crunch on the outside. All the flavors we tried were delicious! Yes, even the PB &J! The store had 6 rotating flavors. Single donuts start at $3.50 a pop. We went with the 6 donuts for $18.50. The glaze has just the right amount of sweetness. Matcha was my wife's favorite. She also said the owners were incredibly kind and well organized! The gentleman---Tuan was so personable to stop by and check on how we were liking our items. The Korean corn dogs were also great and a very generous size! Loved the side condiments of ketchup, spicy mayo, and honey mustard. There was a 15 minute wait on the corn dogs, but no issue as we started with our donuts and drinks. No. 6 will be our go to, but there are so many options to choose from. Our boba was perfect and we liked that we could customize the sweetness of our drinks! We'll be back to try all the other items (they have bingsu-shaved ice too)! Overall, pretty standard prices here for boba tea and mochi donut specialty shops. Hoping that they start a rewards program soon!

First, I'd like to take a second to say how awesome it is to have a Mochi-Doughnut shop here in the Tosa area. The atmosphere and ambiance of the shop is amazing! We went 45 minutes prior to closing in which there weren't many doughnuts left. They made a fresh batch to be able to fulfill my order, however, that caused a number of issues. The doughnuts frosting tasted super sweet and greasy. We didn't realize that after a number of hours of letting it set, the doughnuts tasted less sweet (which was awesome) and less greasy. So be mindful of that before eating a doughnut. In this case, being completely fresh and out of the fryer wasn't great. The reason for the drop in rating is due to pricing and quality. If a K-dog is ~$6/$7, it better be cooked correctly. In my case, it was burnt. The additional drop in rating was due to the staff feeling a bit un-inviting. With that being said, I also had my service at Mochinut in Bayshore (a competitor store), they had better quality mochi doughnuts as well as k-dogs where they provided various different sauces that were fire. So if I had a preference, I would definitely go to Mochinut, but because of distance, Mochi Ring is sufficient as it's down the street.

My boyfriend and I were in the area and decided to come check out this place. I was really excited because I love boba and on top of that they were serving mochi donuts and Korean corn dogs! We didn’t wait too long to receive our stuff and it was fairly easy ordering from their menu. I ordered their taro milk tea and it was soooo yummy! The flavor was right and the tapioca pearls were cooked nicely. I got their Korean corn dogs too and those were good as well! We also got their mochi donuts and while we didn’t eat them right away, they were very soggy. I haven’t had any bad mochi donuts before so I was really surprised when I ate them. It was almost like it was doused in a lot of oil and the mochi donut absorbed it all. I’ve had mochi donuts before from Mochinut and saved them for later but they’ve never turned soggy or oily on me. Maybe I just got them on a bad day but they’re normally very light, fluffy, and chewy…and this wasn’t it. Otherwise, it was a very cute place to check out! I wish I would’ve take more pictures and videos but didn’t think about that. They do have an area where you can sit and take aesthetic pictures. I will definitely come back for the boba and corn dogs!

Milwaukee is diversifying and I am here for it!! Usually I have to fly back home to California in order to get my mochi donut fix, but I'm glad I don't have to do that anymore with this new addition to the Tosa food scene.

Mochi donuts are a creation that lends inspiration from Hawaiian / Asian cuisine, which tends to utilize mochiko (sweet glutinous rice) flour instead of the average wheat flour. As a result, the donuts are chewier, less dense, and bouncier.

MOCHI DONUTS: 4/5 Texture-wise, the donuts at Mochi Ring are pretty similar to mochi donuts I've had at other mochi donut shops. Flavor-wise, Mochi Ring is a bit lacking. There was a decent variety of flavors when I visited. Some of the flavors were just odd though, like funnel cake and maple & bacon, which clearly were meant to cater to a certain demographic (aka those that are used to more traditional donut shops). I would have liked to see more Asian-inspired flavors, like passionfruit, ube, black sesame, etc. I know the menu is rotating, so perhaps I just went on an odd day.

I settled on the matcha mochi donut. Texture was great, but the matcha glaze was disappointing and not fragrant enough. I could tell the matcha used was low grade, because it was difficult to taste any tea or floral flavors. The entire donut tasted slightly chocolate-y, in fact, which was odd.

KOREAN HOT DOGS: 2/5 Instead of using a thin layer of batter to coat the hot dog, I think the batter was applied too thick and unevenly because the inside of the breading was squishy, dough-y, and undercooked!! Definitely was a very unpleasant surprise when I bit into the hot dog. Everything else about the hot dog was fine.

I know Mochi Ring just opened, so I will attribute some of the shortcomings to growing pains. Still really excited to have a mochi donut shop in the area and I'm confident they'll...

Mochi donuts! We've been reading about this latest craze! And Tosa Fest was the perfect opportunity to sample several flavors of mochi rings! Despite the extra traffic due to the festival, there was no line waiting to be served. The store appeared to be well-staffed, and all employees were busy and pleasant. We enjoyed the unusual texture of the mochi bites we sampled, so we ordered two rings: one Butterfinger and one black sesame seed. We also sampled strawberry and banana. The flavors are in the icing. The pink strawberry and yellow banana were creamy, pleasant, and true to their names. We weren't sure about the creamy gray icing flecked with black sesame seeds, but the gentleman behind the counter told us it was "nutty," so we took a chance, and we are pleasantly surprised that it instantly became our personal favorite! The Butterfinger, however, was definitely disappointing, with very little flavor in the thin chocolate glaze that was sparsely sprinkled with just a few tiny grains of candy bar crunch. We also ordered a mozzarella mochi on a stick, but I wish we hadn't. We were ready to leave long before it arrived, so we took it "to go." After being reheated in the microwave hours later at home, it was still crunchy, which is definitely a positive. However, the flavor was unremarkable, with no seasoning in the crust at all: just a bland, oversized, deep-fried mozzarella "stick." Overall, the two of us agreed that we were glad we had finally satisfied our curiosity about the current mochi "donut" craze, but will likely just share a single black sesame ring someday on a...
