It was a very educational and eye-opening experience. Based on my feelings when I entered the park, I almost turned around and left. The condition of the park was horrendously unkept. I realize this family has been researching monolithic domes for many decades, and I am impressed with that fact… that the original family is still following their dream. the young woman Tour Director, was very informative, very polite and pleasant to talk with. I am surprised by the fact that she has no architectural or engineering background. If I learned anything , it was the fact that how difficult it is to change the perception of the American public on new alternative housing I decided to take the tour, and I’m glad I did. I have a very good view of the entire operation. The overall dirty, unkept property really turned me off. The rental domes are two notches below a trashy trailer park. It appears that this family has had a difficult time funding this entire concept. I give them credit for their perseverance and their faith in trying to change the American perception of what a home is. I would never recommend anybody to visit this research center. Passed by the rainbow caterpillar off the expressway a couple years back and wanted to check this place out when back in the area. Well, got a chance to see it up close. However, they did paint it white now and has cowboy boots painted across the bottom. Pretty cute. Found out though, there is a community of domes nestled behind it and a construction office on site so I stopped. I find the domes super interesting and was able to get some information on building a dome abode. They have built domes of all sizes all over the world. They are pretty awesome. Definitely an interesting and informative...
