Roubidoux Spring has been attracting water-seekers since before Joseph Roubidoux III (father of the founder of St. Joseph, Missouri) built a camp cabin nearby. The Spring and the overlooking bluff has historically been attributed with it's very own tragic Native American Indian princess legend. A more modern, less tragic legend states that if you dip your toes into the cold spring waters that you will return to Waynesville.
