I went to Gloria's because I want to keep my business local. I have been married civilly for a while, but was having my church wedding soon. I had my engagement ring, my husband's and my wedding band that I needed altered. My engagement ring was getting a new stone and setting, my husband's band was getting resized and an inscription was being added to the inner part of the band, and my wedding band was also having an inscription added to the inner part.
We stopped by, and the lady greeting us was not very pleasant. We have sterling silver rings with gold inlay. My husband had never worn his, so the silver was badly tarnished. When the lady took the rings out of the box, she looked at them with disgust and asked, "what type of metal is THIS?"- she even had the nerve to hold it with two fingers as though they were dirty. THE NERVE!
I brushed it off, and we gave her very specific instructions as to where we wanted the inscriptions and how I wanted my engagement setting to be. She didn't write the order correctly, so when I went 10 days later my engagement ring wasn't ready, the inscriptions were on the wrong side of the ring, and the inscriptions were so poorly done you could not make out the numbers. I complained, and they took the rings back, another week to fix it. I got a call 2 days later my engagement ring was ready. I went and picked it up and all seemed well. A few days later I noticed that my stone was REALLY loose- you could hear it clicking against the metal. They hadn't tightened one of the prongs- it's really frustrating as the stone is on the larger size and it could have easily fallen out.
I get a call a week after that (Friday)telling me the jeweler had removed the inscription from the ring but forgot to write it down and needed me to give it to them again, and that it would be ready By the following Monday- I'm annoyed, but okay.
Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday and no call. I stop by late Wednesday and the rings were still not ready. I waited 15 minutes while they finished up. They adjusted the prongs of my engagement ring while I was there.
They get a solid 3 stars. Their prices are VERY reasonable, I expected it to be much more expensive given the work that needed to be done. Eddie the jeweler is very nice, the woman taking care of the customers- not so much. The work was standard. The rating is based on the very poor customer service and the nuisance of so much waiting and 4 trips- 3 weeks for work that should have taken 10 days Per their timeline.
UPDATE: I reviewed my husband's wedding band and they never changed the location of the inscription on his ring. So I will have to make 2 more trips- to drop off and to pick up. 6 trips to fix a problem that should have never occured- ...

I am stunned at how beautiful and perfect it came out. I’m in love. Thank you for your work! I plan on using the two small gems in the future to make rings for my daughters.
