Well, I go into the bookstore as I work in the student union I know it’s a lot of times, especially in the morning that one of the managers whose wears a hat and has a short hair and as about 5 foot 10. It’s always forcing them making the students up in the front you work that she could easily do herself. I’ve been there and seeing three young students two Girls at one boy folding sweatshirts and her giving them bags to put up behind them when she was easily able to install that they were quite busy then another time. She tasked One of the girls seem as before to take 5 to 6 bags and put them back while she was working with a customer. Today I come into the bookstore and one of the girls who was in the original group of three was working and doing different things at the register as well as folding sweatshirts. She went back after the manager told her to go look for the specific sweatshirt that she needed. So with no timeframe, she went back and came back up and said she couldn’t find it. I was shopping around the Philadelphia section so I heard all of this. So the other manager went back and came back up and said to her come here. As she found them, but she couldn’t bother bringing them up for the girl to do. I find a lot of the times that this manager doesn’t seem to want to work and I’ve never seen her put fold or hang anything in the multiple times I’ve come in. It’s a shame that these students are so hard-working and yet they don’t get recognition or even a thought of grace while working in the other managers seem to think that their job is job the...
Read moreI had one of the worst shopping experiences ever at this store yesterday. I went in to purchase a few items, and while the cashier, Kellyanne, was incredibly kind and patient, her manager, Dot, was the complete opposite. My card declined, so I told Kellyanne I just needed a minute to move some money around — nothing unreasonable. Out of nowhere, Dot came over and very rudely told Kellyanne that if another customer came up, she needed to cancel my transaction because “helping someone else is more important” than waiting for me. The tone and attitude Dot used were completely unprofessional, condescending, and unnecessary. I’ve never felt so disrespected over something so simple. It was embarrassing and downright rude. If this is how management treats paying customers, it’s a clear reflection of poor training and zero professionalism. Kellyanne, on the other hand, apologized for her manager’s behavior and handled the situation with grace and respect — which is more than I can say for Dot. I truly appreciate her kindness, but management seriously needs to learn how to treat customers with basic decency. Absolutely unacceptable experience. I will not be returning until the...
Read moreOverall a very nice store with some great student employees. However, I walked in to the store today and my experience wasn’t the greatest. I went to a girl with glasses on the heavier side a question on an item, and her response was very sarcastic, rude, and undermining. She refused to show me anything on where a product was. Then she checked me out at the register and was not friendly at all liked she wanted somewhere else to be. Even when I walked to the register she was on her phone texting right at the register. I overheard her name was Amelia. I understand that these are student workers, but where does the customer service come into play? I hope to return to the bookstore but for better...
