Fish 'n' Store Bait & Tackle — Local services in West Tawakoni

Visited the store today to get some cut bait. Pickings might have been a bit slim being the dead of Winter an all, but I got plenty carp and drum to cut up at a fair price. I paid with a card...the owner asked me if I wanted a receipt and I replied "no, I am not going to bring it back". I felt the price was ok and I had some good bait, which is hard to come by sometimes in February. I asked him if the place next door was a good place to eat...he said it was...and my wife and I went over there to have a late lunch. I was just ordering a beer when the man showed up at my table and gave me $37 cash. "I over-charged you", he said and made some pleasantries and left. Now my goal was to spend about $100 on bait and I had done that, but to now have this man bring me cash...walk over there and bring me cash...was very respectable, respectful and surprising. When I got done eating I went back over to Fish "n" Store Bait and Tackle and spent $36 of my refunded $37 on more bait. It is a nice little store. Has a lot of catfish-centric items in there...rods, reels, all sorts of supplies and terminal tackle, not to mention a good bit of fresh bait. Where I am from it is all about bass and crappie, so it was darn nice. Here's the thing. Going forward, if I am anywhere near, I will drive out of my way to buy bait from this place. It as a great selection...good prices...probably some good advice...and some damn nice and very honest people in there. Not that nice and honest people are rare in this part of Texas, but I just believe that when you find a place that will work for your business that way...even if you are only spending a little bit...you should patronize them whenever you can. I have been using this bait shop since they first opened, they carry any and everything you want as far as tackle goes, I assure you, you will not find the tackle and equipment selection anywhere on or around Lake Tawakoni anywhere else. The service has always been top notch, they also carry a variety of different live baits and also carry fresh Shad (Never Frozen), if you are a cat, bass, crappie, brim, striper, hybird, sandbass, etc etc, they have it all, highly recommend. Best selection of bait & tackle in town. Owner was very helpful with hooking me up with some fresh gizzard shad.
