Giant Eagle Supermarket — Local services in West View

This store doesn't deserve the one star we are giving it, after it dropped the ball on our catering order for the third time. Order was placed for the deli which was sandwhich rings, Thursday Feb 20th, 3 days before the event on Sunday Feb 23rd at 330pm. We arrived to find that order was not available, nor completed. The order was not properly posted according to the deli. Their solution was to wait 2 hours, which was not possible, given we had to take the order for our guests and couldn't wait that long. They offered to do sliders, which we, not them, had to ask to provide enough for our guests, as they wanted to short sell us, even with their mistake. The sliders were sloppily put together, as it was rushed. These fortunately were taken off the bill, and they offered to us pop, 2 salads, and lettuce free of charge. This still doesn't change the fact that they dropped the ball 3 times including us, and we were almost left with nothing. If we didn't demand them to rectify their mistake which wasn't much, we would have had nothing for our guests. The substitute wasn't great, but in a pinch it worked, since we had no food. We were considering to use them for a graduation party prior to this incident, but not anymore, we will take our order elsewhere. I would highly recommend if you do a deli catering order, call many times to make sure your order is ready, and actually done, so your not embarrassed to find out you have nothing and left scrambling. Do better. Management should retrain or put new procedures in place to make sure this doesn't happen again to anyone else. The lack of caring and leaving us to ask how you will fix it was quite frustrating, when they offered no solution to help, or wanted to help, until we demanded they make it...

Bought tilapia on sale here and it made me sick. When not stored correctly it can cause a buildup of histamine to which I’m extremely sensitive. Within an hour I developed migraine / dizziness symptoms.

Also bought giant eagle brand ice cream that same day. When I got home it was freezer burned and looked like it had melted then refrozen. Brought it back for a refund. Allowing ice cream to thaw and refreeze can allow bacteria to grow making people sick. I checked their freezer and more than just my two containers were affected. I even checked the other GE flavors. All seemed dented and affected. No one seemed to care and I’m sure they’re still selling it. They’re lucky I wasn’t a health inspector.

Taylor the bakery manager is really rude and sassy and have a problem towards people of color and different cultures and this is unacceptable every time my family call nothing seems to be done like they don’t care but it’s our hard earned money that we spend in these stores and now that I see the reviews I can’t be making this up today Taylor called my sisters phone cussing saying he’s not making my sons cake and he’s ripping the order up now what am I supposed to do chancel his party????? I got cakes in the pass here and yes I called and told it wasn’t right because it wasn’t the cake was lumpy and sloppy like kids made it and the colors was wrong this giant eagle...
