Best sticky buns ever! When you frist walk in the owner is friendly and generally caring. Engages you in conversation about small town life, family, friends, and love. Having a seat under the covered pick nick area, the sweet smell of organic farming engulfed your senses after a east coastal early morning drizzle. Warm baked goods that brought back childhood memories of summer days, fall favorites, and holiday fun. As you devoured the sweet and salty, soft, warm buttery sticky bun, the family dogs came and tickled you with thier wet friendly noses. Enjoying the rows of nick nacks, dried flowers, jams, soaps, and honey, all while fresh produce waited for you up at the front check out counter. The nursery out front before entering this cute country store, that seemed to belong in a movie scene, was quaintly dressed with a variety of fresh flowers and garden plants. As an author Grandma Zook's inspired me for a lighted hearted, fun, fall, first date for charcters. I feel this little stop off from a nice drive through rolling historical hills and pastures of Pennsylvania, is a place for every one in the family. I finally got to visit Grandma Zook’s last week and was very happy with my experience! I live an hour away but am in the area weekly for an appointment. I always miss Stampede BBQ’s open hours, but will visit there soon. I stopped off to check out the bakery and the plants, and was not disappointed. Grandma carries a variety of indoor and outdoor plants, fresh herbs, shrubs and small trees. They have a few dedicated sections to succulents (my reason for visiting!) and a barn with pottery and garden decorations. A woman named Jen was working and made sure that I was taken care of and took care of my questions. I was looking for a hanging spider plant which Grandma’s had, but my eye caught a beautiful hanging beads lampranthus and I bought that instead. Refused my business because I had my service dog. Turned me and my registered and certified service dog away. I even showed her my proper registration, but to Angie Frame, she didn’t care. I flew from GA to PA on Delta, was approved and passed all proper DOT requirements to fly, yet she turned us away.
