For what itâs worth, I reached out to the owner right after the disaster of an event I hosted in West Warwick. And two days later, I havenât been contacted by the owner, John.
Planned a group event for 15 kids and the owner suggested doing a private group party, which was $500. We were asked to arrive 15 minutes early so the kids could be briefed and start promptly at 12:30. We ended up having 13 players. While we waited for the kids to have their first round start, I was handed the menu for Famous Pizza. All of the prices are marked up (+ $8 for a square pizzas, + $3 for chicken tenders, + $3.50 a salad, etc), which I wasnât expecting (see attached menu which is only provided in person). I knew we had to have the order delivered but saw Famous charged $2, no biggie. Well, I asked for our food to be ordered and delivered right away since our party started at 12:30. Our kids started their first round at 12:50. At 1:50, I inquired about our food and the person I placed the order with went to âcheck on the statusâ. But their face showed they forgot to place the order. I asked the manager to cancel the order. Note, the charge for food is still pending.. and had I not requested a receipt for the refund, I wouldnât have received a refund since my card was needed for the refund! By this point, the kids had gone through 20,000 gel blasters (in one hour!) and we had to pay $70 for more! The manager offered us more gel balls for free so we could have more time for pizza to be delivered and not have to worry about the gel ball supply as the kids continued to play. Kids wanted food, not to continue playing.
Then when I went to leave, the staff was trying to charge $499.99, even though I paid a $100 deposit to the owner when I booked the event in January and our balance was $399.99. I could not get ahold of the manager nor the owner when our party ended. The manager who called me, Qayden, told me the owner was working at the Webster location, which I called twice and rang through to Warwick. After much back and forth, no one could explain why I was being asked to pay more. And they finally agreed to âdiscountâ the balance to $399.99!
The $500 gave us a small room, which wasnât big enough for the kids and some parents, and apparently meant no one else was in the room playing gel blasters at the same time. Every 8-10 minutes the room is used by groups for different games, such as airsoft or gel blasters. It was NOT worth $500 seeing how quickly the ammo was used and there was plenty of seating space in the larger, open area.
I left very frustrated with how the situation was handled with not so much as an apology. The manager took ownership for the food not being ordered, but I feel they could have comped the $70 extra we spent on gel balls. This âpartyâ was extremely unorganized and frustrating to watch.
The kids had fun, but none of the parents were impressed with how things unfolded. I would not return to this venue, nor would I recommend it to anyone.
Itâs also worth noting this location is on the 5th floor of an old mill. So there are no elevators and you have to go up four flights of sketchy wooden stairs to walk in.
Finally, the snacks that were available for purchase should be checked by staff. My son went to grab a few different snacks that all had holes...
Read moreWe attended a Gel Blaster party here. I will start with the positives; the kids had a blast and really enjoyed the gel blasters. We were a private party which allowed us a private room and only our group in the arena for gel blasters. Things that need improving: The room was very crowded and not enough chairs for everyone in our party which lead to a bunch of people milling around outside the room away from the party. I would suggest in the future a private event be given the option of reserving tables in the big room which at least had windows and a TV for parents not participating. Outside food is not permitted, and you are only allowed to order from one venue (at an additional cost). As a parent to a child with a food allergy this is very disappointing. I ended up bringing something for my son that he could actually eat, and it is a good thing I did since no one else ate because the staff never ordered the food for the party. The event seemed very disorganized. The staff gave one briefing and then rarely were seen again, parents were helping the kids reload their gel blasters. Our party was from 1230 to 330 and the kids ran out of gels an hour into our party. One parent paid $70 for more which seems outrageous!! The gels should be included in the price of the party. When the owner/manager was asked about why the food was not ordered or having to purchase more gels @ $35 a bucket. He did not seem very apologetic. He informed me they place the food order at the back end of the party (this was at 150p and our food had not been ordered). When we reached out to the pizza place to place to order at 2p we were told it would be an hour for delivery. We were told by the owner/manager, we could have another place deliver to the parking lot and gave us a bucket of gels rather than refund our money for the extra ones we already purchased. Overall, the kids had a blast but were super cranky because they did not have lunch. They resorted to eating the snack bags that were meant to be a party favor. Everyone ended up leaving by 3pm because they...
Read moreOn Saturday, We visited Advanced Action Sports in West Warwick after speaking with Isaac the night before to book a VR escape room slot for my family. Unexpectedly, on the same day, two other families decided to join us for the adventure, creating a potentially awkward situation since our plans were not set up for a larger group.
When we arrived at our pre-scheduled time, the VR room was ready for us. I explained the change in plans to Isaac, requesting not only to cancel my reservation but also to accommodate our friends, who were still undecided about the activities they wanted to try. What followed was an exceptional display of understanding, flexibility, and top-notch customer service.
Isaac went above and beyond to ensure everyone in our group had a memorable time. He graciously allowed me to retain my VR Groupon voucher for future use, so I could join in on the activities my friends chose. He thoroughly explained the available options, tailored his recommendations for the kids, and made sure we all knew what to expect. Despite the unexpected additions to our group, Isaac patiently waited for everyone to arrive and even provided discounted rates for the activities.
Though the gel-blaster war field was set to close at 3 PM, Isaac extended our session for several additional rounds and included an extra bucket of bullets at a reduced price. This thoughtful gesture left every member of our group genuinely impressed and grateful.
The entire experience was nothing short of phenomenal. Isaacâs professionalism, willingness to accommodate last-minute changes, and dedication to ensuring we had a great time truly set Advanced Action Sports apart. We canât wait to return to explore more activities and are especially excited about visiting the open field in MA. I highly recommend Advanced Action Sports for an outstanding, family-friendly adventure. You wonât be...
